Hi Ron,
thanks for your thoughts on SC. This is just going to be an entertaining weekend driver for when we are not using our other sports car. We don't plan to track the car so the fact that power is the same as on a model without it is not a problem for me. We were considering 2 cars nearly identical at different dealers. The car we are on the way to getting has SC along with several other options that the other car does not have, and it is nearly the same price as the car without SC, so I just wanted to know more about SC. But thank you for the suggestions about ECU tuning and for cluing me in on the true differences or lack thereof, between having the SC and not. Thank you again, Best regards, Dino |

Glad to give another perspective. Didn't want you to think it was something it wasn't and end up paying a lot and be disappointed. If it's "free", even then you have to decide if you mind the "timer" on the dash. Good luck with the search!

I have the sports chrono, but new to the car and only have 700 miles. I have the 6 speed as well. Do I need to push a button or put something on for the perforance feature to be engaged or is it always engaged from startup? The timer I already know how to turn on. I also read somewhere on the board that it also engages a sport exhaust. This true?

2) Yes, it should also engage the PSE at the same time |

Thanks, I was at work when I asked this and forgot about the sport button. I always push that. Since I do not have the PSE option, it will do nothing for my standard exhaust, correct?

I have the S/C and like it. It just makes the throttle feel more responsive and more fun to drive if you're driving around in a spirited manner. I have to say that I've never encountered anyone who thinks it actually makes the car faster. Just plays a little trick on your mind and adds to the fun. If I hit stop and go traffic, I usually switch it off because it can be a little jumpy at times, but normally, activating it is the first thing I do after starting the engine.
I had a related question for anyone who has chipped (GIAC). Does flashing with the GIAC program deactivate the throttle mapping recalibration and/or alter the changes to the PSM parameters associated with pressing the S/C button? 00r101, you posted that you can disable PSM altogether... how do you do that? Thanks in advance!
