I tend to agree with Alan as well. Though the RSA will have a special place in my heart -- a 911 with manual steering, fantastic seats, classic aesthetics, modern suspension, and A/C that works well (provided you have that option) -- this new Boxster appears to be a truly authentic, minimalist experience for this era of Porsche. If you add the heavier options back to the car, you defeat the purpose, and it is not for every occasion.

Will this beat a Cayman around the track?

Spyder weighs less (2811 lbs. vs. 2976 lbs.), has the exact same engine as the Cayman S, but electronically has a lower track speed (166 vs. the 172 on the Cayman S).

...but the Spyder has a stiffer suspension and LSD. It would be very close...

DE's are the only events this could participate in "as-is" right?

And then the "roof" won't go over a roll hoop? ...

Car looks great, the specs are great! Just doesn't seem like you could use it for anything but a summer weekender...
