I like it. Going to print out a a pic into a poster and hang it on my bedroom wall right next to the one of Rosanna Barr, in a string bikini.
Sincerely,
Macster.

I just noticed the Bentley sitting there, if it's the same owner then I would have advised him to ditch the Bentley, don't dump $50k+ into the Boxster and just buy a real Carrera GT

You guys are too tough... I do like it. But, of course, I wouldn't buy it. But it bothers me that the tag on the back says Carrera GT. They should like verify VIN numbers before they sell the tags.

Isn't this car in England?....what I'm thinking is that the owner or responsible party wanted the car painted along the lines of a certain racing heritage.....When I was in London in 07', people walking the streets, in pubs were all talking about Lewis Hamilton and his push for the world championship driver's title in a McLaren/Mercedes Formula One car. At this point you have to do a little googling, binging, or whatever and readup on Bruce McLaren, an Australian, who raced in many classes of racing. He won a Formula One race, he totally dominated the CanAm series, mainly with co-driver (who was probably the better driver of the 2, Dennis Hulme), they came in 1-2 in races for years. Bruce McLaren died while testing a CanAm car at the Goodwood track in England in 1970. Porsche came onto the scene in 72'-73' with the 917/30, a dual turbocharged car that at one point put out 1580 HP. Yes, 1580 HP, and had a top speed of 260 mph. The Porsche's were driven by George Follmer and then Mark Donahue (injured at the time) to break a 5 year run of domination by the McLaren cars. Soon, around that time an fuel energy crisis would come, changing the rules of CanAm. The "McLaren" name would be carried on, with actually little connection to Bruce McLaren himself to this day. Years ago, at the unveiling of the Formula One cars for the season the McLaren team had their cars, the MP4/12 painted in the distinctive color that Bruce McLaren raced in...I believe it's called "papaya orange"...the last batch of McLaren road cars were painted in the Papaya Orange...I've never attached an image before so here's my first shot. This is my guess at why this car is this color. I've considered painting my motorcycle McLaren "papaya orange", would certainly be safer than having it black.

So, what I think this Carrera GT owner was trying to do was simply achieve that color.
In retrospect, when I first saw "speed yellow" I thought it was repulsive. It's grown on me. I think if you have a car that stands out, you better have a car that back's it up, "talk the talk, walk the walk..."
