Default Funny thing about Boxster Spyder

I just got my Spyder and a few things funny to me.

It has a rear spoiler button and rear defrost button (I assume it at least heats the mirrors).

Given the fact that the button cluster under the climate control is a separate unit, you'd think Porsche could make a button set up without the spoiler button.

I believe the rear defrost is as you suggested for the mirrors. As for the rear spoiler button maybe its the German's idea of a year round April Fool's Day joke.

Best regards and enjoy your Spyder,
Dino

And thanks for noticing my thread. It really is strange that they did that. That part has many versions. Some with more or less buttons depending on the options on a given 997 or 987.

It's been noticed and discussed before, thus the little replies. At the NY show I believe Porsche showed a Silver Spyder without the button. It was a rolling change I think?

what's more odd is that even if you add a PSE or Sport Chrono aftermarket, the new buttons go on the left...

It's all pretty intriguing! As a geek, I'd be keen for any images and evidence... ;-)
