Latest Update:
I combed the web and I found several instances where Sport Classic was rejected for PTS. I knew my fate would be the same.
When I was determining my PTS color for my Audi TTS, I originally wanted to get the 356 Dolphin Grey. Audi rejected my order back then and I decided to go with Suzuka.
I just assumed that Dolphin is too old of a color and there is no way it was going to be possible. After doing some research, I come to find out I was wrong. Someone ordered PTS for a 2011 GT3 RS in California and it was delivered just days ago!
It's the original color that I really wanted long ago and I come to find out it's the color that is most likely to be approved! (go figure)
The fact that it's a vintage Porsche color is a bonus!
So my last and final plan is to go this route. I should get the official answer tomorrow. If they reject this.... I give up! It just wasn't meant to be.
Here is a link to that GT3 RS:

Cayman do you have a paint sample and or can you get the color code from the GT3 owner?

That is awesome!
The Sport Classic Grey on the Sport Classic 911 looks really nice to....possibly another option if they turn down the Dolphin Grey.
Sending positive vibes to both of you to make this happen, would be cool to see some custom colors stateside on the Spyder!

Plan A = Suzuka Grey : Rejected Twice (lack of Sample, quality concerns)
Plan B = Sport Classic Grey : Most Certainly Rejected, Strictly Exclusive to 911 Sport Classic Only! (others have tried and failed)
Plan C = 1964 Dolphin Grey : Approval TBD, best chances as it has been approved on the above 2011 GT3 RS and was delivered stateside this month.
Plan D = Scrap PTS : Keep Carrara White

Will not happen. Sport Classic Grey has already been rejected by PAG on a customer's gt3 RS PTS request. They have reserved that color just for that model. But Dolphin Grey should be a 'go'. Good luck, Cayman! Saludos, z356 (Carmel)

Interesting to special order Speed Yellow which was a basic, no extra charge, color when I bought by 2006 Boxster S (GT Silver/Cocoa Brown)...with optional hard top, which gives it a funky look when I put it on a month or two per year. Speed Yellow, I found people to love it or hate it, I didn't like it at first, but I would consider it, but in conjunction with other details....the color POPS!!!!, and if done right, is great choice.

Then again you're Guards Red Spyder must be a looker based upon the options you selected. Which reminds me that you still haven't posted any pictures of it!

As a follow on ... for those that may not know I started with a white/red Spyder got rid of it after 145 miles and then ordered a red/black Spyder that was delivered on 12/24/10 and for those of you that live in the tri-state area to say that it has been a long winter and we have had some snow...well that would be an understatement...after sitting down and going through the numbers again and again even for a car nut like myself I simply could not rationalize it.
