My key is stuck in the ignition and won't come out! No dash lights, no click-click...

I hadn't driven the car ('09cs) in a couple weeks. Got in this am and...
What to do? Dead battery? Just jump it?

Should be a wire tool in your fuse box cover to release the key lock. Or apply 12V to the pull out red post in the fuse box (ground return to the door latch on b-pillar) - eg with boost cables.

Thanks guys. Can I jump it with the key in? Any cautions? The car is an 09... not sure about the in-service date. 3 years about right for a battery? Seems common in "newer" cars

Yes you can apply external battery source with key in ... you could try a battery maintainer through the cig. lighter socket first but my experience is they don't have the juice to charge a dead battery. Is your frunk open or latched ? If open, you could just put a proper charger (or spare battery or jumper cables) across the battery terminals.

I would only jump start it when no other choice was available, like when your battery fails away from home. Otherwise a trickle charge is far better for your battery, but it will likely take several hours before you have charged your battery sufficently to be able to start the engine.

Good luck...but don't be surprised if your battery is 'dead' and can't be 'revived'. Perhaps a blessing in disguise. This might be motivation you need to hook you up with a lightweight Lithium battery! Give Tony at ring! Although past the deadline, he might let you in on the 'group buy'.

I hardly drive my 987S and had the same thing happen, had to use the little metal wire, hey...sometimes I do read the directions, eventually got it open, the car was over 3 years old, and most cars with 36 month batteries, and usually they are accurate + or - a few months (I remember my college chem teacher explaining it, but I forgot why)...I picked up a new battery from the Porsche dealership and swapped it in. Like a fool, I got busy, and didn't drive it much the 1st month of the battery, ok...actually not at all...killed that battery too. Tried to use a battery charger but no luck, it would not hold a charge, I could have went back to the dealership and lied that it died, but I'm not like that, so I leave it on the Porsche trickle charger all the time.

Do you know if the Braille will hold a charge if left for a few weeks without driving it? Or would I need to leave it on a tender?

Don't have 1st hand experience but I've seen the specs and it seems up to snuff, i.e. comparable or better than stock/similar battery. Smaller sizes' specs weren't up to par.

When I get a Spyder I'll be getting it (Braille 21 lb. - ~30 lb. savings). However, anytime you leave a car for a few weeks it'd be advisable to hook it up to a tender. You can also ask Suncoast Parts as they sell them.
