Default What's Happening With My Motor?

Took these pics while I was changing the oil. These pics are pre oil change as I was doing a visual inspection of underneath the car. And sadly I was unaware about inspecting the oil filter during a change until after the fact.

Afterwards I had my car taken to an indy Porsche shop for belt replacement and clearing diagnostics and they mentioned that probably a failing IMS. Of course I'm not sure how experienced this shop is with 987's as I think they deal with a lot of more of the 993 gen and earlier cars.

Can anyone provide insight on why I'd have this residue just hanging out on my motor like this? I should add that I don't have any drops on my garage floor and there are no noticeable noises outside the norm.

The pics do not show up.

I believe you posted something in another thread and got some responses there.

Looks like you have a leak where the tranny and engine meet? Could be a rms leak. What year is your car?

I can't see pics either.

EDIT: saw the pic on P-9. Suspect RMS leak or IMSB outer seal leak. If you don't have banging sounds or a sh*t load of metal debris in the oil, I'd forget about it and have it checked when you need a new clutch or FW or whatever. In other words, I didn't see anything to cause alarm - IMSB outer seal leak does NOT equate to a failing IMSB.

When I click on the pics, it comes up on Flickr. Then I clicked on link that said to view contents.

I had a similar leak not too long ago. Turned out to be the RMS. Take that with a grain of salt please.
