People messing with your car
If one drives a new cayman (or a 911 or any Porsche), how concerned are you guys about other people purposefully damaging your car (dings, scratches, keying, slicing tires, etc.) when you have it parked somewhere in public? Any owners experience this in the past? Any who haven't? If you have, how did you deal with it?

No concerns, but some basic caution. No parallel parking, no bad neighbourhoods (why would I go there anyway), newer parking garages with other "luxury" cars in and good surveillance. But that applies not only to my P car but to all other cars I've owned.

This poor owner's boxster got keyed.
It was during the Berkeley protests that happened few weeks ago...
I don't know why people do that ****...
They do this **** and then participate in police brutality protests...

I would just be very cautious and think about where you are gonna park it and for how long. Due a risk assessment. I generally park at the far end of the lots in an end space, with a bit of extra space for the side of the car that still can be parked next to. Under a light if necessary. No tight parallel parking, or on crowded streets, no parking near Mardi Gras parade routes, etc.
True it does limit a bit where I allow myself to take the car, but my self imposed limit has paid off IMO. My 01 Boxster S with original paint, etc.

Paint still looks great on that boxster.

My 2006 Cayman was my DD for 5 years - I never had any problems with parking in all kinds of places (Walmart, Home Depot, fast food joints, etc.). On the other hand, my 2002 WRX got keyed twice (damn jealous Honduh Boyz ).
Whatever you do, don't be one of those guys who takes up 2 spaces to "protect your baby" - I think that's just inviting some guys to vandalize your car.

I think it is a problem for any vehicle. My truck has been hit twice in parking lots. If I ever catch someone doing it they are going to catch a beating.
