Default Clutch Smell

I bought a used 2014 4000 mile Boxster S with a 6 speed and chronos. Interestingly, when I put the car into Sports plus and drive the car with a little more spirit, afterwards I smell what appears to be clutch odor resonating from engine area. Oh and Yes, I do know how to drive a manual. Is this normal? I would assume the car has been broken in. Any suggestions? I am thinking of taking it back to the dealer to see if there is a problem. Thanks. Kevin

My dealer told me to let the clutch out further than I would expect before I apply the throttle. I experienced the same smell on my first drive and the valet even commented on the odor as a burning clutch smell.

I find that my Porsches often smell after a spirited drive. I suspect that it is cosmoline or other protective stuff that surprisingly lingers for many many years. My 981 is also a 2014 S with the proper transmission, around 15K miles, and it will stink a bit. My previous 997 (911) also smelled after a drive. It's just the nature of the beast.

If you know how to drive and you know that you aren't slipping the clutch, then don't worry about it.

This. It happened to my 06 987S, 10 997.2 and now my 13 981S. On that first Cayman, I still smelled it after 33k miles.
