Default Longest u left top down on Spyder?

Wondered the longest anyone has left the top down on their spyder? With the twisting of the top's "wings" and those "round dots" produced by the trunk lid pads, I'm afraid to leave the top folded for more than a couple days max...

Even if I figure the next time I'll drive it I'll want the top down, I put it up to store the car if I know I'm not going to drive it for a few days.

Yea, what are those round dots? Are those from the trunk lid pads? I assume they wash off with some 303 cleaner. It happened to me after leaving top down for a week. Looks okay tho, wrinkles come out fast.

Good question, will be interested to hear from others.

I put up / take down very frequently. Mine has never been down more than 12 hours at a time; and typically, it's less than an hour or a couple hours.

I tend to have a strong bias towards putting the top up. When I'm out, it's about physical security (I'm paranoid, though not entirely w/out good reason), avoiding too much sun on interior, and/or it being really hot and wanting A/C and climate control. When in garage, it's about keeping out dust and avoiding any creasing on top.

Thankfully, the top is much easier to operate than I originally feared. Hasn't become the chore I thought it would, and I kind of even like it. Reminds me of the 84 Targa, but easier and more enjoyable (with better seals).

The top is only down when I drive it... Otherwise my top is up.
-to prevent any damage from the twisting
-keep debris from entering the cabin
-preserve that new car smell

I've never had mine up, honestly. I've had it down since the day I drove it home from the dealer.

So, 7 months ago, roughly.

To be perfectly transparent, though, I've only driven my car for around 150 miles... So, not a lot of time to spend with it in either position

About 7 months. If I wanted a roof I would have bought a Cayman R or GT4.

Right on guys! I really only put mine up if I have to go out of town for a while. The car seems 'happier' when it's down, almost 'sad', like putting a dog in a kennel, when it's up.

Top down, zippers up, WOT!

12-14 hours for an all day car show. Porsche says not to store with top down.

That is not surprising... Having it down for long periods of time may cause permanent creases... Especially with the twisting of the wings when secured.
At the same time people that have their roof down all the time more than likely don't care as they don't see the roof anyway as it is tucked away.

Where/when did Porsche say this?

Mine's been down for about six months so far.

I've had my Spyder for about 2 months now. I think I did put the top up once for about 12 hours. I could care less about the condition of the soft top.
