16's are just as tough to sell. Face it the .1's are turning out to not be the best Porsche has done. Are they still great cars, yep. I have been watching as well and thinking of getting one if nothing works out on a .2 because I will not pay over.

Here is a 16. $166k MSRP and asking $153k MSRP and this car has been for sale for a long time so no need to "jump" on a 16. For me this is almost a perfect spec as I don't want LWB's.

If that car was another color, it would have sold by now. If the car was wrapped in a PTS color, it would
sell very quickly.

There is a buyer for every color. There is a buyer for every seat option and there is a buyer for every brake option. All those IF the price is right and that is my point. The values of .1's are dropping and quickly. Potential buyers like myself want to see when the first .2 hits what happens. Even at $153k what happens to that value then. Not buying an appreciating asset but already took my beating on my Turbo so want to do a little better on the GT3.

Sorry to the OP for the side track. Bottom line for you is buy a "G" motor car if you can. Less problems.

There is just a smaller market for the Agate grey color. My '16 GT Silver sat at the dealership for 6 months because it didn't have LWB or PCCB. It did have the lift and full leather including seat backs which is what I wanted. The car sticker price was for $160 K, original asking started at $169 K, having developed a relationship from this dealership, I was able to buy it at 10% off original sticker. This is by no means a steal, but a fair deal for a '16 with the options I wanted, also the market being in the Bay Area.

The OP might wait till the 991.2 starts delivering late this year, there will be more discount on the '14 and '15. I just don't see many trading in 991.1 GT3 initially, most will to see how the new car shakes out, and most won't pay over MSRP.

The red one is a great looking car, someone will buy that at 10% off MSRP. That price would be around
$147 K. At $153 K with all the extras put in by the seller it is already a great value.

In my case, I was only buying a '16 and knew there would be fewer around.

what about a '14 GT3 with a CPO? does that not assuage concerns at least a tad?

Porsche of Annapolis has '14 GT3 with 18kmiles....offering with CPO at $135k. I'm wondering if I can get in closer to 120k. They've had the car since dec 2016.

The only guarantee I can pass on is the sooner you can own the GT3 and drive it the way is was designed for the richer your motoring life will be. I have no regrets at all, and knowing what I know now would have paid more to have owned it sooner. I always say the price of something is not it's worth to me but to someone else. This car now is worth quite a bit more to me because of all the enjoyment I get every time I drive it.

There will always be a better car, but for now every time I open the garage, key in hand, it is a good day to be alive. Great driving weekend to all.

Went from 991 c2s to 991 gt3 daily driver and never looked back. First thing I do when I get in the car is turn on the sport shocks, pdk sport, and exhaust. I do have the comfy sofa seats and couldn't be happier.

The only advice I would give is the front lift option is a must have for daily driving this beast. This car is low and you need to use it in addition to being a bit more cautious with approach angles...

Go get a CPO and put some miles on it!

Iirc, can't get a '14 CPO'd. They have one year "extra" warranty but not available with a CPO.

to address the OP's question -

I think the 991.1 GT3 falls within the subset market of owners who have car ADD and need to get the latest and greatest. There are certainly die-hard P car owners who take pride in their cars and keep them.

I personally acquired a 2015 CPO car that had 3 previous owners. I personally checked the car over and was happy with the purchase. I intentionally chose CPO due to the issues others have noticed. My car has 16k miles and has had zero issues. I bought it because it checked the boxes in a car I wanted. I would have ordered one but frankly I wasn't financially able to do so at the time.

My best advice would be to focus on purchasing a 2015 CPO or a 2016. Decide on what colors/options pull you and do not worry about the rest.

I see a lot of talk about how great the .2 car is, even from my closest friends, but let's not forget this car is pretty amazing. It makes me smile in a way no other car can.

a dealer near me has 2 14's both CPO'd, but it ends up only giving you 1yr extra, since factory warranty was upped 1 xtra year (so 5 total). With CPO, 6 years, so only one extra year or 100k miles

Not the advice you were asking for, but I have both a 997 C2S and a 991 GT3, and recommend sticking with your 997 if you won't be tracking the car. The 997 is more fun on the road - sometimes less is more.
