I don't know why people with manual transmissions are so eager to prove that they are better than PDK. Insecurity perhaps?
Just accept that the GT3 is an amazing car, with an amazing manual transmission, and an equally amazing PDK.

Europeans laugh at us in the US because somehow we need "validation" by driving a stick. In Europe any granny can drive a stick so there is no magical "involvement" with a manual car.
I spent my whole life driving manual Porsches. There is no magic about it, no validation, its not "more involving" and I didn't get any more hair on my chest either from driving 911s with a manual.
The PDK started as a racing transmission in the 956 race car in 1984. Then in a 962 with the first win at Monza in 1986. It was so futuristic engineering wise it took more than 20 years to get it into a 911
in the 997.2 in 09. If its good enough for a 962 race car its good enough for my GT3. Our motor is out of the RSR which doesn't have a manual either.

Both amazing transmissions. I have a 991.1 GTS cab PDK which puts a smile on my face every day as my DD. I'm leaning toward the Touring for my GT3 but man, the PDK is so phenomenal, I can only imagine that the PDK-S takes it to a whole new level of awesomeness.

For the last 15 years i drove only manuals, for me PDK feels more special. It's true that whit PDK in auto you can feel a lag until the PDK downshift, but whit PDK in manual and the right gear you can get that instant push.
Olso i dont know that if whit the manual you can get that crackle/explosion sound when braking hard and the PDK downshift 2-3 gears.

“That is a lot more work,” he said, fresh off laps in the manual car. “Way more difficult to do a perfect lap with the manual transmission. I seem to end up halfway between gears a lot, and it was easier to destabilize the car in the brake zone. It’s tricky to do the brake and entry perfectly when there’s a downshift in there. It’s much trickier to throw a downshift at it than not to. It’s reminiscent of what we have to deal with, with manual transmissions, having to decide what gear you need, and it takes more practice to do it perfectly in one lap. I didn’t get into the magic zone like I did with the PDK, maybe because of the extra work.”
