Here are a couple photos of the stuff (great wrenches besides the fact that it fits this job):

This particular wrench (they have newer fancier ones now) is the Stahlwille 730/5 (works on range 6-50NM or 5-35 ft-lbs - have scales for each) and the 732/10 8mm version for the Ring Insert Tool.

www.misterworker.com has good prices...

Fancy one:
https://www.misterworker.com/en/stah...730n/7805.html

Choose the "5" version of the tool which is top one, 50181005

And ring tool:

https://www.misterworker.com/en/stah...2-10/7854.html

Choose 8mm opening, part 58221008

They also make inserting ratchet heads of varying sizes, so you can use with sockets like traditional torque wrench...

This is pretty cool. I will look into it. I wonder if this is how Porsche techs do it.

Do you know the name of the little socket attachment "TexasPorschelover" shows in the earlier posts? That seems like a much less expensive solution.

Not sure how accurate that is - looks like the torque value would be affected by the length and angle position of that attachment. But maybe I'm misunderstanding (or maybe it's accurate enough for this job).

Yes, you have a point.

BTW, I’ve bought Stahlwille torque tools on German eBay and gotten great prices on used gear that still measured perfectly.

They’re pretty bulletproof and you can use them as breaker bars too without putting any load on the measurement components.

Stahlwille is in Europé as high quality as SnapOn in US.
The best tools money buys us here.
I have a close friend working as an Porsche mechanic at the AD. I will ask him what tool they ask him to use for the oil plugs. Guess it’s something similar you use but from Hazet.

It's so funny GrantG. My mechanic friend replied with a picture of the tool he uses for oil plugs. The tool you use is extremely similar to the one my friend at Porsche Service uses. Except your has a closed wrench better suited for the high torques for that little 8mm. 1-0 for GrantG vs Porsche Service.

Agreed ^

The filter absorbs the oil into the pleats quickly eliminating or reducing the chance of spillage while turning the cartridge horizontal. I added a fair amount without any spillage.

FWIW, the engine on my .2 has required 7.4 quarts after an extended drain time with hot oil to attain 1 bar below max. This is without removing the second (side mounted) oil plug on the case.

I use a summit adjustable digital torque wrench for the rear plug along with an 8mm hex pit and 8mm-16mm adapter.

Default 2018 GT3 oil change

Just finished completing my first oil change on my 991.2 GT3. Purchased jackpoint jackstands 👍🏼 and a Pro Bike tool torque wrench (short shaft) able to torque down the oil filter.

Can iCarsoft POR V2.0 clear the “inspection now” message?

Nice job! Yes, I've heard the iCarsoft POR V2.0 can clear the “inspection now” message (unlike Durametric which does not support the .2). I just go to the dealer though and they reset for me for free (with parts receipts and log of date and mileage of my self-service).

For what it's worth. this is the second change I have done on my 991.2 GT3 and both times removed all three plugs, drained overnight. Both times refilled with Motul 8100 Excess Gen II 5W-40 and both times took 7.7 Litre's to hit the optimum level. this included running multiple level checks and driving till all temps were at norm operating range and rechecking. My display does not indicate the bars as others point out.

While i purchased my Porsche from a dealer on the east coast of Florida, I live near the Suncoast dealership in Sarasota. I can't tell you how many long time knowledgable Porsche aficionados have steered me AWAY from Suncoast for any mechanical service.

I put a Fumoto on my car at my last DIY oil change so I haven't actually used it yet. I think it's going to work out well.
