I understand it's been said that some of the side effects from this Mono disease , a sense of onipotense
Possible motion sickness and serious addictive behavior induce
Major potential fianacail stress ,
Blurred vision , difficulty breathing
And marital hardship.
Sounds pretty serious Caosoul. Seeking change

CJ, I was impressed with how noticeable yet Smooth
The transition was when moving the traction control just from level five to level four. The calibration work they have done is really impressive.

Call can you tell us a little bit more about the brake bias function... I didn't dare touch that.
Brake bias is very sensitive in the car but can be shifted on the fly for more of a tail wagging the dog effect. The car does not have ABS. So- depending on track temps or your style it can work in various configurations with a half turn being a full adjustment. Typically I like a little more rear brake Bias since I'm comfortable trying to catch the car in the dry. LMP3 brakes run 55+% bias to front, GT3 cup runs 52%+ to rear. Mono has small engine (no real weight bias) and therefore makes pretty quick reactions. I don't know how people spin them but just like a 911 if you stand them on the nose with wheel turned in you could get the weird understeer into snap oversteer. I need more time at each track before giving full eval on what works best for lap times. I suspect Mono could do a 1:30-1:32 at Laguna Seca in the car if I had 3 sets of tires to destroy. Turn 4 and 6 should both be flat throttle, especially with the new run off widening.

Not sure of a reference number anywhere else but hey spring is fresh. I'll end up at Sonoma and Thunderhill eventually.

What we sorted out was that there is an optimal rake for the car in order to get the rear to work on mid corner throttle to allow it to rotate without snapping...too low of rake angle and the car would chew up tires fighting for some more mid corner lateral bite.

The fastest way through corners is to release brake well before apex and immediately go to a 20-40% maintenance throttle, and progressively add from there.

Soon i'll get mine! I've talked with Ian Briggs and it's been only a few details to get fixed. It is a track weapon indeed.

Since they can be registered for the road can you find insurance? Always wanted one but the price seemed to jump from £75k (?) to $200k in the US, don't see why. What an amazing ride it must be.

I had a chance to drive around Scottsdale earlier this year in the Mono while following CJ in his P1 and I can attest to the BAC Mono being one of the coolest automotive experiences I've ever had. The seating position in the Mono is spot on with the Formula 3 car I drove a few years back, with your line of sight barely over the cockpit. Right in front of you is a steering wheel resembling of what's close to a modern day F1 car with all of the digital readouts being displayed right within the wheel. Overall, you leave the experience wondering how this thing is even road legal...pretty awesome.

So now that you've driven the car.....how much did it tickle?

It's a superb car per a friend who has driven one but for me personally, the asking price is too much for a non cf monocoque car. If KTM can produce the X-bow with a CF chassis for considerably less than the mono, for the price BAC are asking, a steel tube frame chassis is not imho reasonable. While I don't think a CF chassis is necessarily the be all end all (ie Mclaren necessarily being better than ali spaceframe), for that kind of pricing I think one does start to expect 'bang for the buck' in terms of engineering as well as how good the product is (and the latter is very good to be fair). Congrats to anyone with one all the same.

Even seen a $4400 muffler? Now you have...blown up after driving the car for 2000 miles. Some things are so ludicrous they are hard to believe, unless you've experienced them firsthand.

$4400 muffler!

Dented muffler case after suspension broke on 2nd delivery attempt, resulted in blown up muffler several months later.

A typical day in my ownership experience

I want to see video of this car around COTA! 4 gear flat around carousel would be nuts.
