I swore to never pay over MSRP again. The dealer wants 50k non-refundable deposit as commitment, so it's a real allocation that they have right now. The 50k over ADM is not approved or official, someone could swoop in and ruin it at this moment. I guess a guy just did another one for 125K over.

No. Relax.

50K is a lot of money, average family income in the USA. Pus there is NO Guarantee that you pay 50K over, maybe it's jacked up to 100K. This deal is for a sucker, walk away. With a non refundable deposit you are at the mercy of a gouging dealership.

Crazy, buy a used 991.1 RS and go drive it this summer - pocket the $50k or add $20k and you can go pickup a 997.1 Cup as well. Track and street toy.

Price people willing to pay, ADM or not, is subjective.
But the non-subjective rule is:
1. Do not sign or give a non-refundable deposit without a set selling price (exactly how much ADM and how you're paying it, if they are marking up your rates etc) in writing.
2. refundable deposit is ok if you want to jump on it, and if they change the terms you can back out.
Like said above, don't be at dealer's mercy.

I see a claim for a non-refundable deposit but not a statement that there is an ADM in the same sentence. I also don't see how a deposit translates into an ADM. Something is amiss the way this was posted. Too much can be read into this post, implied, etc.

From what I understand, the 50K deposit now is to actually lock in a real allocation that they currently have, with a contract. The ADM would not change and no one could offer more and get the car, I think. I got a GT3 at MSRP from this dealer a few years ago and it was a pleasant transaction. This particular salesperson is on the level. When I said, "not official", I meant variability with the ADM until the commitment is made.

If you are happy with the 50K over and can lock it. That's up to you. But I would not do it if the the ADM is adjustable. That's just horrible practice. Absolutely no transparency.
