Because even Porsche knows it adds nothing to track performance.

I wish Porsche didn't charge as much for their courses, or at least offered GT car owners a discounted price.

I'm doing the same sequence of courses with AMG driving Academy, including the Masters RS equivalent at Laguna in November, and as an AMG owner it will end up costing about half as much as Porsche charges.

Oh well.

I continue to wonder what happens to all of the cars that get trashed (I mean used as teaching tools) at Barber. I heard they go to auction, but I'm not sure if I've ever seen a listing of someone who bought one that had origins there.

Cool cars! Thanks for posting.

I asked them the same question. I think they said they get distributed through the dealers, but I might be mistaken.

TBH other than perhaps the transmissions on the manuals whats really going to take a beating on the cars there? They're driven under extremely controlled conditions and not doing anything they weren't designed to do.

Yeah I've heard they are well maintained. Brakes, rotors, fluids all serviced regularly. I also heard that since they are not titled that even after several thousand track miles they are still sold as new.

Not sure I'd want one after all those students but when I was searching for a GT4 I thought this could have been an option. Never could figure out how.
