Own what will make you happy now and disregard value and future value.....of the Mac brings a smile to your face keep it.....if the Porsche will make you happier make the move....in the end these toys are a big "waste of money" and the only true value of a vehicle is how much you can enjoy it.....

I love the McLaren spiders. You've taken a substantial hit and you will not take another $50k in a year. They are holding up fairly well on the 2nd hand market. What you took was the new car drive off. The rest is avg depreciation at this point. With that said buy what you want to ride in and enjoy. I stopped calculating what money is to me vs other people a long time ago. Some on here make in a month, week, day what I make in a year.

If the market loses all the excess liquidity (2008) all of a sudden, I wonder what would do to the cars sitting in dealers. They have expenses and a sitting car loses money. Supply and demand.
Some examples from the memory lane. I bought a Cayenne demo in late 08 with 2k miles for 42k. Later in mid 2009 I bought a demo 997.2 base with 4k miles in it, MSRP 86k for 68k. They had a Sparkling C2S cab fully loaded going 13% off MSRP. The best (and the one I regret) a cab turbo 08 MSRP 145 for 108, brand new. That was almost a year in the dealer without buyers. A GT3 would sit for months before selling.
Bottom line is, markets fluctuate. Cars lose money and that can be multiplied with the proper supply and demand mix.
I buy cars to drive, track them if possible. If Porsche's selling practices will make that impossible, there are other brands out there. Search for cars around 200-450k. Lots of awesome stuff out there, dare I say, better and more rare? Go burn some gas, that's guaranteed returns.

This is good trolling, not exceptional or expert trolling by any means, but good enough to fool at least 50% of rennlist. It's going to take me a minute but I think I can figure out who is behind this in a bit.

Looks good
Ok gonna take a chance and buy the car. Took it for another test drive today and my god it makes the mclaren feel like a comfortable cruiser, but the sounds are incredible!

If I was in your shoes and could pull it off financially, I would keep the 570 and get the RS. Keep that 570 for 2-3 more years and the depreciation won't feel as bad. Probably level off in the 125-150k range. Good luck on your decision.

why do we go have a week long vacation at a beautiful resort with our family and never once worry about the money spent but instead cherish the memories.
why do we spend months and years driving our favorite cars and expect at the end of the ownership that the experience should not have cost us a penny but instead we should
benefit financially.
Cars lose money.

Why do we go to a nice restaurant and spend time with our spouse on a meal and enjoy the evening and never think once about the money spent but cherish the memories.

Have to admit- that Spyder looks much better than the coupe. I would grab RS and keep the Spyder for a little more time. You aleeady took the beating in her so will not get much worse
