I cancelled 3 track events in Europe, decided to only go to unrestricted or 100+ days.
Should be illegal for racetracks to be demanding limits lower then the road limits.

Assen, 98dB didn’t pass with SOUL tips (98.7)
Bilsterberg, did pass with SOUL tips
Zolder, passed 98dB with big cans
Zandvoort 92 did not pass with big cans.

Cancelled Albi, Mettet and Charade.

Blew sound twice running GT4 at Laguna on overcast/rainy weekend. 94.6 and 94.1. My instructor said it didn’t even sound like I was on it that hard - probably 3rd gear, 5-6k rpm or thereabouts. Anybody know how loud a GT4 gets stock?

Hey guys,

I'm not local and was hoping to get your advice for Laguna Seca this weekend. Will my car make 103 dB with Dundon everything (street headers w/ cats, loud exhaust, intake plenum / bigger throttle body)?

It's a 2018 manual GT3 and it's LOUD. It just made it through 105 dB at Laguna last weekend, but I don't know the measurement, and I'm not sure if they are being more lenient or strict these days. Is there a big difference between 105 and 103? I guess it could be...

Also, will it help if I short shift between turn 5 and 6 and stay to the left side of the track?

Thanks in advance!

WTH is LS doing with all these different level days? 90, 92 103, 105??? They must be selling these days to the promoters at different cost levels. I don't think the locals are going to know the difference between 103 and 105. As far as your setup above goes that will probably be more affected by weather and other factors then the 2db difference. My sense of all this is the track and the county needs $ so they'll push these louder days in spite of the locals.

The dates that were originally races that were cancelled were then offered up to everyone. That is where the high dB days are coming from

Just ran Laguna Seca with 103db limit with my RS with GMG center section exhaust. Kept it at around 4k RPM in 3rd gear around the sound mic and was never flagged. I'm positive I would have been flagged if I was at WOT, but I never tried it and I didn't get a chance to get a sound check. It was overcast in the morning and then cleared up in the afternoon.

I was there too in the yellow 996GT3 with full race Dundon exhaust. Had some turn away exhaust tips made but still hit 106DB third gear near redline on the proper line through 5-6. So was called in and lost that session. The rest of the time I would come out of turn 5 and short shift into 4th gear half throttle tell turn 6. At lest I was able to play on the rest of the track.
