GMG Racing's GT2RS Clubsport Debut at Spa

James, was great catching up with you at the paddock! What a story, to arrive without your gear and still manage to get out there for FP and R!!
Part of me wished I would've taken delivery of my CS to run this event with you guys. The 24H was the toughest endurance I've driven--extra track time in the GT2 event prior to could've helped, but in a way it wouldn't have done anything to prepare us for the MAD traffic and weather conditions... in any case I'm glad I scooted over to see all the eyecandy and catch up with a few drivers!
There was a whole host of discussion re: performance gap between the Cup, CS, 935 and GT3R before. I think this is what I can observe for qual times at Spa:
That said, it's been an impressive debut for the GT2 cars and a weekend to remember!!

- 991.2 Cup (Mich N2) 2:24
- GT2RSCS (Mich N2) 2:22
- 935 (Mich N2) 2:21
- 991.2 GT3R (Pirelli DHD2) 2:20
That said, it's been an impressive debut for the GT2 cars and a weekend to remember!!

Not a precise science, but taking the same driver is probably more accurate... 2:22.5 in qualifying Supercup at Spa and a 2:20.2 on a GT3R during quali at the 24Hours. The gap is probably closer to 2-2.5s seconds between these 2 cars which puts the RSCS at the same level more or less as a 991.2 Cup.
For a first time in Spa, James has had an unbelievable result compared to the rest of drivers who have been racing there for several years. Congrats.

You should watch the first corner of Race 1. James took down a sitting Le Mans GTE-Am champion just like that. Some rockstar stuff!!

Wow!!! Living the dream is understatement... Thanks for taking the time to post your trip and experience with the new car. Spa is incredible and to be in the mix with the newest kit from Porsche must have been really special.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys, and yes, it certainly was an amazing experience!
Great to see you as well CRex, next year we race together! :-) And hats off to you racing in that rain, WOW.
We got lucky in our race with the rain coming down just at the end, I quickly turned the TC back on and tried to hustle that podium spot, needed one more lap! hahaha. (Isn't that what we all say!)
One other thought after driving the GT2RS CS, it's SOOO MUCH EASIER to drive at the limit and get to max speed in that car vs a Cup or a GT3R. That is one of the big pluses that PMNA is touting regarding the car. For instance, I am pretty sure than an AM driver can get much closer to a Pro's lap time in the GT2RS CS vs a Cup or a GT3R. I had many conversations at Spa with Porsche Management and that was a big selling point for this platform. In some cases, if you take an AM driver at a track like Road America, Rd Atlanta or WG, I bet you they may go faster in the GT2RS CS vs a GT3R........just my 2 cents.......

Very cool livery! That red line front splitter, mirrors and wing make that car really stand out and easy to find.

James you did an amazing job of driving, especially since you've never driven at Spa!
I thought you where going to win the 1st race - great timing at the start - and good finish in the second race. The GT2RS CS & 935's all look amazing! They don't sound like a GT3R or Cup Car, but they still tick all the boxes to a Porsche nut.
Keep it up.
Oh...& I love your GMG LMS Roll cage in my 991.1GT3 - great products!

Great wheelin, just amazing on a first visit there. You're taking after Schumacher in the Jordan.
