While the rear 305’s seem a bit narrow for the 12” rim, my race shop was encouraged that they’re the exact load rating recommended by Porsche (95F, 103R) - same as Cups and Dunlop OEM...

I heard over the weekend Nakang is coming out with a new compound in 2020 and they're targeting lap times better than the Trofeo Rs. And 19" options are also coming.

Hope they make a 325/25/20 (which is actually what the stock N-rated size is closest to, despite the labeling)...

I second this size. Would like to try them on my ZL1 1LE Camaro as well. Make the front size, but not the back.

Looks like Apex is using these on their Ring Taxi M3 (4 race seats, all with harnesses). They do tons of laps, so longevity is key.

Has anyone else tried the AR-1s on track and have feedback on fitment or lap time compared to cups2/maxx2?

Reviving this thread as it seems there is now a 21 rear size they offer for the RS's. Would like to know how these on GT3's compare to MPSC/Dunlops and Hoosers?

@Mech33 could you post some track updates on the AR-1? Long term? How are holding up? How many cycles were you able to get out of them? optimal temps? Appreciate it...

I have just finished my second set of AR-1's, tried them after Mech33's review. His review is spot on for me.They are at least a second faster than Dunlops (for me anyways), at Willow, Buttonwillow, and CVR. The sidewalls are stiffer, and none have corded on the shoulders like Cups and Dunlops. The rears lasted me 24 sessions, with a PB of 1:56.6 at CVR on the.... 22nd session. They are "slicks", but no cording. Fronts go a day longer. * I am at -3.3f/-3.0r camber for the Dunlop shoulder cording.

I go out first session at 25/26, then set 32/33 hot. They definitely loose rear grip at 35.

I don't enjoy them driving to the track, NOISY

Great feedback, I am really looking forward to trying these on my 21" RS Wheels in a few weeks time when they land in the US. Having a reliable street tire that doesn't drop off like Cup's in certain temps and sessions is important and staying consistent.

I hope by street tire you mean able to drive to the track. The AR's are on my track wheels and I swap them out when I'm home. They sound like a 4x4 off-road tire around town.

I can't even remember the last time I drove my RS on the street, the tires will be for the track to run to the gas station at the track if its an emergency LOL

I’ve gone through 2 sets of the AR-1s now, and overall I’m still enjoying them. The last set didn’t feel great on day 2 or 3, but I’m not sure if it was because the car was sitting for many months or if I was just out of practice. They were also quieter than my 1st set for some reason. I just tried another set of MPSC2’s, and I’ll say those are great tires as well in terms of overall feel on the track. I just mounted my 3rd set of AR-1s today and will hopefully run them in the next couple weeks and report back.

Hard to beat the value of the AR-1s.
