Yes it can. Though I cannot be sure about its protective capabilities from vandals (assuming that is your purpose) trying to intentionally break that window.

Any real world experience with the Maxxion product?

I used the locator tab and took it to a local installer. Here is the response he got on the product:
"Maxxion is undergoing some further enhancements and will likely be completed towards mid-2021. I will keep you updated when it becomes available."

It's always good with these kinds of products to see some longterm positive feedback here on Rennlist before one jumps on it.

I experienced the same with Clearplex. New car, rock about 3mm diameter and pow big crack at about 70 mph

That's a bummer to hear, I was looking forward to this being a better solution for protecting windshields where other products had big drawbacks.

I was beginning to get excited while following this thread ..premier did ppf on couple of my vehicles many years ago (I use someone else now) and with my new G63’s vertical windshield broken once I was going to make use of this ...I guess will have to wait and see

Hmm, I have only run my windshield wipers one cycle when I got caught by a small shower while pulling into my garage a couple months ago. Other then that she has never been rained on Fyi, my full PPF is STEK Dynoshield and I am extremely happy; clean up is a breeze and she shines like glass...the outer layer has ceramic agents bonded at the molecular level.

Update please?
It would not be possible that these companies "don't carry it anymore" because this product was just made available last month to us and to other dealers this month. With Clearplex and other precuts there will be 1/4" (give or take) gaps. So there will be exposed edges, which is the weakest part of the windshield from getting glass breakage. But if there is nobody in your area for Maxxion, then obviously having something like Clearplex would be better than nothing.
The Internet returns no search results for the Maxxion product. A previous post here indicated that Maxxion was undergoing further development and wouldn’t be completed until some time in mid-2021.
The web site of developer Prestige Films does show the Spectra product. Has the Spectra product supplanted the Maxxion product?

What is the best film choice to date? Our insurance deductible for windshield is $2500 for our car. So the cost of these make more sense about $3-400?
How long do it need to be replaced if only driven on the weekend and track day? Does it get cloudy or not clear?
