The "net" seems very fair to me.

Solid move the RS is so much better than the 14 gt3. I frankly found the 14/15 gt3s boring

I agree. I traded my 15GT3 for a 16RS. Much more fun.

I’m considering this deal for the following reasons,

1. Get out of a car with a known engine issue.
2. Get into a car with bucket seats so I can put in a row bar and add six point seatbelts.
3. Stop looking for the next level car and fully enjoy what I’ve got.

If I go into the .1 RS, it kind of sounds like I’ll be looking at the .2 RS soon thereafter.

Is the GT3RS a CPO car at a dealer? If so I’d proceed, but I wouldn’t buy an RS that wasn’t CPO personally.

You should have no reservation doing this deal "if approved" as you are getting way more out of the trade in. I hope you get approved. You will definitely approve of the outcome when you get it.

.1 RS has same "issue" as .1 GT3

time will expose it

save yourself a step and get a .2, the solid lifters fix the problem

I can afford this deal, so what’s wrong with this year/model car? I’m hooked on DE and plan to use it quarterly on the track. This will be my third Porsche in just over a year, so throwing away money is par for the course. I’m sure I can find one for $10k less in a different state, but don’t want the hassle and worry. This car’s been kept by a well known collector in town, so history is verified. Thoughts?
AND THEY SAY THE GT3 IS WORTH NOTHING THESE DAYS. $125k trade-in for a 5 year old GT3.

That translates to .... $xxx for a 2018 GT3. YOU KNOW THE ANSWER. Hint: it ain't $140k.

Individual buy/sell numbers in a trade-in deal are irrelevant. The diff is all that matters. Dealer has an obvious incentive to inflate both prices as he can advertise them as market prints in future sales.

$175k is high imo regardless of history, however your trade is about 10-15k higher so it evens out

That trade value means nothing on its own, only a figure relative to the car he’s buying. Ask that same dealer to write you a check for the ‘14 GT3 and buy it outright without buying another car and I can promise you they’ll say $100-105k max.
