Yep. Waiting for tests from vortex.

So I'm thinking of getting the Uniden R3 instead of R7 (given the price difference). Do people actually find the arrows useful? Do you change your driving behavior as a result?

Decided to buy two detectors after getting a ticket I'm fairly sure could have been prevented. Hadn't owned a detector in 20 years so I had no idea what to buy. Read up on Vortex and a little bit on YT. Concluded that for me the best bet was Uniden. The R7 had just become widely available but I chose to get two R3s. From what I read the marginal difference in effectiveness and the rear arrows weren't enough to make me justify the price difference but more importantly the form factor difference. I like that the R3 is more compact - in a big car this might be less important but in my 993 and 964 I like that it's smaller and obstructs less of my view. I want to get a third one but I'm curious about the new Valentine and also the Radenso Theia.

Arrows are good - but I do not change my behavior. If I get a signal from behind, I am not speeding up. I am going to slow down. If I get a signal ahead, I am also going to slow down. Reason being, officers will turn on and off radar at times. I do not want to speed up away from them, and then for them to catch up with their radar on. If I am out on a fun drive without a lot of people or stores around, you may get a signal every 20 minutes. I do not mind slowing down 10mph every 20 minutes. But I think that having the arrows is nice, just makes you more aware.

LIDAR renders most detectors useless. Still contend that a good set of eyes and common sense is your best defense.

Mine seems to work great in combination with Waze.
Of course instant in or planes can still catch you, so always be on the lookout!

Yep. Knowing when and where is the most important part imo.

Since using a V1 with arrows for many years, there is no way I would ever take a step backwards to a unit without arrows.
It's like an RS, once you've had one, you are spoiled for life.

I sent my Gen 1 in two days ago. I hope they are "essential" during the ChinaFlu shutdown!

Pretty solid review. Guess I have to see what the trade-up price looks like....

My R7 with blendmount. Now working on the mirror tap. Hope I don't break any clips.

I'm just gonna poke around with a volt meter and find power and make sure it's tied to the ignition.

But try this Mirror tap
