991 Speedster stained top
Anyone able to remove 4 round marks (two on each side) that appear permanently stained into the Speedster top? If so, how did you do it? Poorly designed for sure. Seems like some sort of chemical reaction from the material used on the 4 rubber-like stoppers when the top is down. I cannot get mine to disappear, and see them on every Speedster. My car is meticulously kept with less than 900 miles, and I never park the car with top down. These marks do not seem to come out. For the price of this car I won't hesitate claim as a warranty item.

Most people will either not notice or not care but they annoy me to no end. My Speedster was delivered new like above. And the new Speedster that I'm looking at has them much more pronounced as the top was left down for a long time in the showroom. I've not made them worse because I never keep my top open and even had two velvet pieces of material made to sandwich between rubber stopper and top. Here are the culprits.

Same design issue on the 981 Spyder I had the same, and only noticed in the light. The more you have the top stored they become more pronounced, and it’s not a stain vs pressure marks into the material.

Yep I have it on mine too and while it’s annoying I figure they must have had a reason it had to be designed this way

I am fairly certain the velvet pieces that I cut to fit each area are effective at preventing. If so, this is a Porsche design flaw.

Agreed and if it really does occur on all of the 991.2 Speedsters, then Porsche should come up with a solution to address the problem. Re-engineering the top and replacement of the top is not going to happen. Perhaps, like you, they can devise a way to put something in between in order to prevent the discoloration. That would seem relatively straightforward, if not ideal. What a bummer. Hard to figure how this was missed, especially if it has occurred in other models as well?

Wrap those stoppers and you'll be fine...and also, over time you may see these less and less as the top ages a bit.
But overall I'll say this. You have a HELL of a car. Speedsters are awesome, and please take delight whenever driving them. Convertible GT3 for the street! awesome
