Wonder how many miles of data is tracking the replacement motors (rebuilds).

So far I've put 19k total miles with 1700 of them being on track on my G6 replaced in July 2019. The only issue I've had is one bank 2 cam position sensor fail at the track, but that was an easy replacement.

Appreciate your sharing this information, and the replacement engine looks promising!
I have heard varying theories regarding the new builds, and some think the engines will still fail just take longer due to the better coating: who knows.
Your real-time example is by far the most positive I have seen thus far.
I have even heard people say they think Porsche is replacing these engines with the more solid 991.2 build, but unsure how they could pull that off if true.

Again, thank you for sharing your experience.

I have a 2015 GT3, I am not sure which engine I have. I purchased car with 3K and added 9K, now with 12,226K. I have about 7K track miles, it is primary track car. Started getting check engine lights this year and it has been burning a lot of oil. I have been going to dealer for the check engine lights to document. So, this time was different. They changed my oil and I was given a form that journals mileage and oil measurements for 1000KM. They want a break down on track miles, street miles and highway miles too. I was told that codes were indicating low oil pressure and they mechanically measured pressure and said pressure was ok. So now I have a day track event at Pit-race and I will be doing some extra driving on public roads too. I don't know if this has anything to do with getting a new engine but I really would love it if they replaced it. I have a lot of smoke on start up most of the time, I just feel like over the last year a lot of CEL have happened. Thoughts on the oil pressure anyone?

Can't believe they want all of this data for you to collect, and the CeL codes are not telling them anything?
I was never asked for such record keeping, nor did they care about any track mileage, etc.; however, perhaps because you have the newer engine (2015) which is supposedly a more solid build than the 2014 version they want to collect such data at your expense?
Guess I am blessed to have had same-day diagnosis with two coil/plug swaps, then asked for my authorization to teardown, and within a week I had Porsche engine replacement approval.
I suspect with you "KM" comment you are not in the U.S.?
Sorry I am of no help regarding the oil pressure question.

No, I am in US. they want the data for 620 miles which is 1000KM. We shall see, I really would like them to replace the engine since all these CEL's started happening, it really makes me wonder and before the warranty runs out late in 2024.

All I know regarding my engine reaching breakdown is it showed zero warning of any sort. It simply threw a yellow code at 30 MPH then threw a red.
The car was still very easy to drive, but when approaching the 6K RPM and above it immediately went to the red CeL and reduced power.
The yellow code remained at each startup with the red code only showing itself at that RPM range.
I suspect your engine is toast especially with such track miles.
Perhaps go to a different dealer? That's what I did as I only trust my original dealer, and I would ship the car anywhere in the US back to them should the need ever arise.
Wish you the BEST!

Porsche has all your data, every time they plug in a PIWIS all of the data goes straight to Germany and the dealer has no control over this. They can plot exactly how you drive your car as well as when codes appear.

They are not, would be over the moon to get a 4l as a replacement, but I got a standard G 3.8 put in this week. I will say the new engine feels really strong, and I'm getting way more MPG out of it, but I'm also breaking it in, and not going WOT, or over 5krpm.

These are the codes I got. They are not P-car codes, so they really don't mean much. I go by what the dealer says.

My original F motor was replaced at 17K. New G6 motor has 5K miles, mostly track, no issues, no smoke, no excessive oil usage. So far so good, let's hope it stays that way!
