OBD Tool to reset service reminder
Would someone recommend an OBD tool to reset the annual service indicator/reminder message? I performed the required maintenance items and then some and now wish to remove the pop up message. TIY...

I use the icarsoft POR V2.0
Recently updated the software and it can now read a bunch of parameters in the ECU, still no overruns, But hours, mileage, and a whole host of other values can now be pulled.
Used it this morning for my spring oil change.

AFAIK, all of those tools reset to 2y/20K miles vs. 1y/10K like a dealer service. If that bothers you, you can get a PIWIS III clone for the 1y/10K resets, but it’s kinda like bringing a nuclear warhead to a knife fight.

Nope, the iCarsoft unit lets you reset the different types of service reminders just like the PIWIS

I'm likely going this route with the iCarsoft unit. The maintenance reminder is at the three year mark for an oil change for me. I changed the oil of course and did another brake fluid flush. The reminder was apparently reset by the dealer a courtesy at the two year anniversary as I had a warranty item completed. I completed the plug change, oil & filter as well as A/Fs, pre-filter and cabin as a DIY at that time. I did not realize until this year that the dealer changes about $100 to reset the reminder.
Thanks to all above for the info.

Do you maybe know if this feature is an update?

That's the icarsoft Por-II, it's different. It's an earlier model. I initially bought that version and discovered it did not work. I returned it and bought the newer version POR V2.0. The units do run different software updaters. So I suspect the hardware is different. I don't know if there's an update now for that version or not. My suspension is that Porsche updated the OBD protocol and maybe the chips in the earlier unit cannot support the newer protocol. With that said, I did see in another thread that somebody said they updated their POR V2.0 and it's working. So it's worth a shot for you to update and see if it will work.

I love that you have the Konradsheim Carrera RS book! I have had one since new myself (they go for crazy money on eBay...)

Hi Grant. Yes, I was chocked seeing the prices of them. Guess it's because it's not so often Porsche them selves are authors of Porsche books? And the fact it's limited to a series of 3000 books.
