Default Instrument gauge dial color change...

I want to change the dial colors on my 2018 GT3....the rage seems to be for 'white' dials (which my car came with as a factory option) but I hate the look and prefer the standard black/white dials. Can anyone recommend a seller for these dials - or is it best to source them from PORSCHE as I want them correct. Thank you.

I happen to have an extra set of black dial backs. I’m not sure why, but they were in the glove box of the car I just bought and I don’t need them. PM and I’m happy to send them to you no charge.

All right, I want to change mine too, we have a second person with an extra set magically in their glove box? If not, I refer to the OP's question.

Thanks,
James

Let’s give the OP a chance to respond. I’m glad they will find a home somewhere. Otherwise they will just gather dust in my pile of unused amber side markers . . . . LOL

+1 to Palo Alto Speedometer. Getting everything back together right and calibrated sounded pretty difficult when I had him do some work on a 996 speedo.

Last month, I wanted to do this on a near-perfect-build-to-me 991.2 GT3 that was for sale. The white (or colorful) instrument dials don’t do it for me as I prefer the boring ol’ black and grey default. I asked about swapping out the dials to the standard look, and the sales person at the dealer followed this up with the service manager. I was told that the factory doesn’t actually sell dial backgrounds (like the aftermarket ones we see on Suncoast) and that the gauge cluster and Sport Chrono clock entire parts would need to be swapped out. Here is what I was quoted for your info: Gauge Cluster Part : $4,915.58 / Labor : $697. And just in case anyone is interested or curious, here’s the Sport Chrono Clock Part : $767.60 / Labor : $310. For what it’s worth, he promised that there wouldn’t be any scuffed sections or broken tabs with tediously performed work and that they’d save the original parts to include all with the sale.

Rgwirtz you Sir, what a Champion to give it away for free.

Back on topic, there is alot of misinformation here. Sounds like alot of Porsche tax and ripoffs going on more than anything else.

FVD Brombacher in Germany makes them for our cars in an array of colors, here is just an example. Suncoast also re-sells the same thing. Buy these if you want OEM grade quality, otherwise if you want to take your chances, plenty of such things for sale on eBay.

which really is not that hard, just needs time and patience.

There is also a red FVD set for sale at the moment for GT3.

I have a yellow set somewhere in my garage if anyone wants them. I was going to do it but there was too much involved, even having someone(professional?) do it I didn't feel comfortable having it dismantled and risk a problem.

Anything but the boring black gauges. I'm envious of the red and white. White is my favorite followed by red!!! I reached out to FVD at one point and they told me that to truly match the gt3 gauges, they had to add orange to the white dials, which of course cost more $$$!!!

This thread, has so much love. The giving away of very expensive instrument cluster faces makes me feel proud to be part of this community.

I hope tbo12 sells you his. I have all White, and waiting for Auto Amatuer (July ATM) to release the red RPM so I can have a unique White + Red combo that is well, non-existent. FVD won't sell me just the red RPM, they said all or nothing. Unfortunately, I have no use case for the rest in red.

I am happy to pass on my white dials if all goes well in a 'pay it forward' gesture for what Rgwirtz is doing for me. Stay tuned
