Good info!

FYI all, while the SRO kit may look cool to some, its purpose really is to homologate the car so the top of the front wheel does not protrude beyond the wheelarch. I doubt if the splitter add-on + paraphernalia have aerodynamic benefits...

Still, most of us aren't wringing these cars out at 10/10ths so go with your heart

Those SRO "wheel arch extensions" are not for providing more wheel clearance as they mount just on top of existing front wings but for aerodynamic purpose to help rather "flat nose" GT2RS to be competitive with others more "sharp nose" cars in its class. They are not like 997 CUP wheel arch extensions where they really provide more room for front wheels and front wings have cut outs under them. Porsche Motorsport never making parts and especially aero elements without a reason.

All true... I spoke to Porsche motorsports and the flat nose is required for adequate cooling to run continuously without issue in the 991 gt2rs. There is a significant amount of aero sacrificed for it but all in all still a success.

That should work for sure. Are you also installing the inner wheel well/liner downforce strips? Those are also part of the latest MR kit.

Which parts? The front underbody strakes? The ones emotion [0] fabricated off of? Ive already got those from emotion, the motorsport parts are way to expensive and side by side i would take the emotion.

Those are nice replicated parts, but they are missing another quite important half of those underbody aero strikes. It's complicated part, not as simple to replicate as second half of it.

I doubt that only one part of those underbody aero strikes will make any effect, it was designed as a whole kit.

Correct, these are the missing parts.

The cost of porsche motorsport parts for the lower front strakes ($5k, $1250 each piece) are a bit out of this world compared to others and realize they are absolutely consumable items, especially the items in red, they get damaged 3x that of those that sit inline with the wheels. Furthermore, my issue with the Porsche motorsports parts, in only this case, is the quality is questionable, they seem flimsy and i have friends who have gone through many sets of them. I hope someone produces the more rearward strakes too but even emotions price has increased a lot too, kevlar, or something more robust like emotions.

I can see where you're coming from but you're giving them way too much credit.

Am speaking from actual ownership of a GT2RSCS, and having followed the teams doing the European GT2 series.

If anyone wants to spend $10k on aero bits for a street car for good looks, sure, we can all relate. But to do that for claimed aero benefits, without first acing tire temps and suspension geometry, on a track day? Folks it's like we're setting a clock here... the seconds hand could be working but the hour hand is off by hours...

I measured additional drag from the Clubsport package with SRO kit to be ~12% vs. stock 991GT2RS bodywork based on acceleration logs.

The car has also been lowered to 73mm front and 245mm rear, I estimate the drag improvement to be around 5% because of the lower setup (Drag = CD x Area), so net net CS vs Stock drag is somewhere around 17% without being too scientific about it
