Default Help Requested for Settings on AIM Solo 2 DL for use on Manual 991.2 GT3

I am going to post this here as well as some other forums in hopes of some responses.

Am currently using the AIM Solo 2 DL GPS connected via obd2 cable in my manual GT3. After multiple attempts and configurations following YouTube vids and the like, I still cant get the unit to register anything other than engine speed and G forces.

I am sure I am doing something wrong in the configurator and/or using the wrong cables. Does anyone have any advice/insight into the appropriate settings needed to get items such as RPM, brake/throttle inputs, gears?

Would greatly appreciate any help and I have hit a mental roadblock on this.

Thanks!

Do you have the unit configured to recognize the OBD cable via Porsche 991_981_OBDII?

I am 99.9% certain i have tried its as 991_981 and 991_911 to no avail. Right now, its set at 991_911. I am willing to try any setting and troubleshoot.

If i set it 991_981, which channels would I use? Pardon my ignorance as I am just making sure I am not overlooking any settings. Also, should the 'Enable the CAN bus 120 Ohm' box be checked or the 'Silent on CAN Bus'?

I have a 6MT 991.2 as well and realized the OBD2 cable doesn’t work too well with MT cars. I switched to using the CAN/RS232 cable and can obtain more data than I need now.

@DiscoWagon : where do you connect the CAN/RS232 cable into the car? I mean where are these ports located in the car? Thanks

Good to know. If you can share the hookup/connection that @Watson asked, that would be most helpful.

So, it seems the signals that OP are looking for are not populated on the OBD port so you have to go to the "source".

Do you have Track Precession? You can try connecting to the WiFi for ODBII data, but then you will not be able to trigger a remote camera.

Best bet is to buy a good fast bluetooth ODBII scanner. If you check Solostorm's web site they tell you what ones work best. I find getting everything installed, then turn on one device at a time, and wait for it to connect, then move to the next device. Also you can stop and restart the readiness in the app. It's sometimes a PITA to get it all setup the first time, then after that it's usually a 5min thing to get it sorted out.

Yes, this is what i was afraid of. Not an end all but a bummer nonetheless that. Was hoping it would be a quick fix.

I'm sure someone makes a CAN wiring harness setup for your car. That what I remember buying for the GT4 (or a Garmin Catalyst which is what I did).
