Default Pirelli Slicks and Traction Control

Hello. I have a 991.2 RS and I am running 295/30R19 Front and 345/30R19 Rear Hoosiers. I have not had any issues with SC or TC. I am thinking of moving up to Pirelli DH Slicks 275/675/19 Front and 325/705/19 Rear. I don't know anybody that is currently running this setup but I have seen a few people on the forums that are running it. Also, GMG uses this setup on their cars.

Can anybody give me their experience with this setup and if there are any issues with SC or TC?

thank you.

I thought that PAG strongly recommended not using slicks as the grip levels achievable would place excessive load onto the CL's and wheel bearings etc ... thought it was in the owner's manual?

Heavy track use on any car, OEM or upgraded, will put high strain on all parts. We haven’t had any issues running 19’s with slicks on any of the cars we’ve done. As long as appropriate brake setups, alignment, and supporting components are accounted for.

and follow the recommend maintenance schedule for hubs and CLs etc as recommended in the "911 GT3 Driving on the race circuit" owner's supplement?

I use Drivers Choice in Orlando, FL. So far, we have upgraded the suspension with Swift Springs, Tarret Camber plates and DSC Controller. It also has a "race" alignment and been corner balanced. I love the car but I still like keeping the nannies on. Just wanted to make sure Stability Control and Traction Control were not going to freak out.

The only problem now is that the 275/675/19 Pirellis are out of stock. :-(

thank you.

And properly maintain your vehicle.. There are items that will be addressed more often. Ultimately, it’s all circumstantial depending on your overall setup and driving habits. That’s all part of modifying/upgrading your street car for the track.

19IN Forgelines / Hoosier R7's all nannies off. Not an expert on the cars geometry, but if I have them turned on I get auto-corrects in spots that are preventing me from driving the preferred line. I was told it has to do with Slip Angle.

No problem with nannies running the Pirelli slicks. Exception is when you run different compounds front and rear.

The 325 rears are always unavailable.

In bold above is the key. Heavily modified and maintained. If your car remains otherwise stock and maintenance no more than Porsche recommends, like me and my car, I would not use true slicks like the Pirellis. Happy enough to be one of the faster guys in Red for DE, don't need to be fastest. Will agreeably give point byes to guys on true slicks.
