Default Dundon street headers - are you guys wrapping them?

My Dundon setup arrived Monday and I’m planning to get in the shop next weekend. Wondering if I should wrap them for extra heat shielding for the tires.

Having mine installed tomorrow. I have no plans to wrap the headers. They should get no hotter than the OEM components and I would assume if Dundon thought they needed to be wrapped with all their engineering, they would come that way. That being said, wrapping would probably not hurt but I would ask Dundon first.

I don’t think many people wrap the Dundon ones! Been running it no problem!

I did not wrap mine and, although I have no evidence to back this up, my thought is there should be less heat build up as there is increased airflow around the rear of the wheel.

When you drive, yes... if the car is sitting with running engine it becomes hot at some point. The OEM parts are double-walled, so more heat but better shielded.

Been two years since I got my Dundon stuff. But...wasn't the closest OEM thing to the tire, the side muffler? Which is no longer there anyway?

This is not something I'm worrying about. After three track days at COTA, with 106F ambient tempts, I've not notices any negative effects on the tires.

The word back from Dundon via FB messenger is that they don't recommend wrapping, but it shouldn't hurt if you want to do it.
