Maybe not a surprise to anyone given how he has spoken about the car in the past.

Very interesting. Not sure how it works in the UK - ie is Porsche directly involved in vehicle sales, but he implied that Porsche didn't want him to trade the 992GT3T for a GT4RS. PR issue?
It was clear from the outset that he didn't love the 992 and preferred the size and feel of the 991.2 GT3T. There is no point keeping an expensive car you don't love, no matter how much your brain tells you it's a good car. To an extent I had the same experience with the 992 TTS.
Glad to see he's keeping the 991.2 GT3T - he clearly loves it based on how often he posts about the car.

I respect Chris a lot as the #1 journalist I pay attention to, but I'm not sure how he didn't see this coming. He's driven plenty of 992 cars now he doesn't fancy the cabin and he just loves the 991.2 too much to replace it, how did he not know that in advance? Fact is people like him can get allocations when other people are in a line that stretches around the block - and he will make a fat profit on the Touring.
There's no ADM in the UK just dealers that make you buy a dozen cars you don't really want before they let you have at the good stuff. And because they put the steering wheel on the wrong side it's an insulated market. The 2nd hand valuers are seriously inflated as a result.
Seems they could get him a 4RS but not quite the spec he wanted... another car for which the line loops around the block a couple times over. Porsche dealers can be a-holes but I'm sure from their perspective they'd have something to say about it as well.

I kinda agree I saw this coming. Here's the video of him test driving the 992 GT3T. The 992 GT3T is better performing car but the cabin ergonomics are better in his 991 GT3T is my take away from the video. His statement, "I miss the double cup holder thingy" pretty much sums it up!

he made the right move. test driving a car and actually living with it for months can change your tune on it.

never took him as a flipper, but that what this seems like. he will profit off the sale of the 992. 991.2 with 50-60k miles, he'd most likely take a hit. he's still one of my favorite journalists.

No reason not take him at face value. He likes the 991.2 GT3 Touring more than the 992 Touring. He's not the only one.

Keeping the 991.2, selling the 992, trying to get a 4 RS, and no mention of another RS
991.2s are tough to beat.

+1 He has the financial means and the clout for an allocation to thoroughly evaluate which one he prefers and keeps the one that he likes especially when he knows that he would not lose money on his investment on the 992.

There's just something about the 991.2 in general that strikes a chord the 992 doesn't. For myself personally its a few things but it's mainly the ergonomics of the cabin.
This seems to be a very common factor with many. There are also many people whose first GT car or Porsche was the 992 GT3 and have also moved onto something else.
IMO Chris Harris is anything but a flipper or bull-****ter.
