SRAM RED rocks. Never let me down and new MTB Eagle is best shifting set-up ever owned and bulletproof.
SL8? Meh, maybe just the frame...
Here's why I won't be upgrading to the Specialized Tarmac SL8 | road.cc

had red, just don't like it
always had super record all the way to EPS2
tried DA Di2 by accident. one ride was all it took
next day, entire fleet swapped to DA Di2
the above review is right on
8 ride more ONE PIECE than 7
7 was million years ahead of SL5 or 6
8 is evolutionary improvement
if any one think buying a bike is to go fast.... sorry fking moron.
you buy new bike bc you want new bike
if you don't have 7, then 8 its the one to buy. any argument is well... ride more and you will agree
if you have 7, then 8 is not necessary
8 front end. ABOSULUTE stiffer. 3 pedal stroke you will know. if you stand up to climb.... this is night and day difference.
rear compliance I cannot feel it. feel same as 7
stiffness at BB. 8 is smaller but stiffer not sure why
I bought three SL8 and retire my SL7
now have 1100 miles on SL8 and 19k on SL7

^ yes in about 60miles... here I do 3000+ meter but there, it's 3000+ meter ABOVE sea level... low oxygen... I was quick until 2000meter. not used to elevation. lat 10k had some 27%.... painful but it was good as everyone suffered hahaha
after the KOM, I did more rides with locals and drove their p cars.

that sounds....insane! I did a hill climb TT once and it was the hardest thing I've ever done on my bike. Kudos to you!

Finishing that race two miles high in the clouds makes for a truly epic photo, Mooty.
