late to the party for my first RS
Well after putting 35K miles and 5 plus years of driving on my .1 GT3 I got the bug for a new stable mate. Found a nicely spec'd .1RS at a P car dealer and the trade was done. The car was gently driven as it still had tires with a 2016 date code. I got to put about 1200 miles on the car via the long way home. I loved my GT3 and the car never missed a beat in all these years, and after driving the RS, it was the right decision and I am going to now proceed to pile some miles on this car. It feels great as a street car and to my butt, every bit as comfortable on the road . It will see a few track days at COTA and a lot of back road driving . I am thrilled to have another 991 generation car as I just cant warm up to the 992 gen cars. I do not want to get used to poking on the dash mounted computor to adjust things in a car. I put a fresh set of Cup 2's on and a brake flush and she is ready to go .

Very nice! Yes the RS is more special than the GT3 both .1 and .2. Its more of an experience.

Great color! I've got a .1 RS and think it's pretty much the perfect dual purpose car. I'll join you at COTA sometime once it gets cooler here in TX.

For years my gt3 was all the car I wanted and for once, I thought I might actually keep the car for a decade or longer. I could go out of town in the car, I could track the car and I could beat the crap out of the car on the back roads. It was and is a perfect car. Then along came my first McLaren . From that point forward the GT3 just seemed to lack that wildness I look for in a car. After putting 1500 miles on the RS in the first several weeks of ownership I can say that this is the car I should have bought in 2016. Comfortable enough to spend all day in it, and wild enough to get the blood going when you step on the loud pedal ! To me, it feels like my trusty GT3 on a mild dose of steroids. It just feels better at everything that I do with a car. I am thrilled that I made the trade, and for now it is all I could want in a car. I know that I can drive it as often as I want and just keep up with the service ,and it will serve me for years to come.

Congrats! See you at COTA. I’m thinking of the same change when the interest rates and prices come back to reality.

I love my PTS .2, but a move to a 991.2 3RS is tempting…

What do you think concerning the rev limiter? Can you feel/hear the difference between 9000 rpm and 8600 rpm? (8800 rpm is afaik just the rev linit of 1st gear, all others are even lower)

I have not given the rev limiter any thought until you asked the question. In thinking about how I drove my GT3, I tended to short shift the car when out running backroads to keep things a bit calmer and less "hair on fire ". Since the car I bought has a side and center muffler delete, the thing is really loud, so another reason to short shift the car so I dont **** off every rancher in Central TX. Initially what I am feeling is that this car builds speed faster and gets from corner to corner quicker . I sought out a .1 only from all the posts here that suggested it might be a bit more comfortable / softer for street driving than a .2 . l only track my cars a couple of times a year, so maybe on track I might notice or care about the 9k. For now, I am thrilled with the feel of the car.
