Default Windshield Replacement

I just had my windshield replaced by Safelite for under $400 on my 49k mile GT3. What a difference! Should have done this sooner. Not OEM but I can’t tell the difference. Let the flaming begin!

Any noticeable difference from OEM? I recently picked up a 2015 and the windshield is pretty finely pitted. A quick search here revealed that this is not uncommon, the OEM glass seems to be low quality.

I just did an OEM one on my .1 RS, was $1850 installed but insurance paid for it all.

Difference from OEM: Price and clarity. There is nothing else I can come up with. Honestly for this part it is innefficient (in my opinion) to get the glass through Porsche. Of course I have only had this on the car for 2 days so who knows.....

If you are going to the track doesn't matter what glass you get they all will get pitted. Only way to prevent it is be in front of everyone else.

"clarity" meaning the Safelite is better than OEM? Your first post you mentioned you couldn't tell the difference?

I should have been more specific as I could not tell the difference in the fit of it in the car. Massive improvement in transparency which I called clarity.

HA! I do my best but it is also a lot of fun chasing fast cars around the track. My favorite time last event was swapping places with a GT3RS. The faster you are the more cars you will catch up to, the more pits on your windshield.

That's over a $1.5K savings from OEM glass thru a P-Car dealer. Looks like I won't be doing that again, ugh....
Appreciate the post!
