Stunning car and color!

The auto blip and RWS make it a no-brainer almost to drive but it doesn't lack either as the engine is a rocket, much faster than the 997.2 3RS but definitely not as peppy (requires a lot of effort to rev-match). Where the 991 shines is the gearbox, I think the 997.2 gearbox is super clunky and it requires a lot of effort to engage smoothly. The 991's gearbox is damn near perfect, Honda Type R-esque. If you want rawness like a 997.2, I would get a 911R or S/T. IMO the 991.2 GT3 is a better handling and faster GT4, a touring car if you will.
I have a 997.1RS and am seriously considering the change to an identical 991.2 but they are so different, probably too early to tell but any regrets on the change?

Probably biased since i'm in the 991 GT3 forum but wondering since you owned the 718 GT4, what makes the 991.2 GT3 better at handling (on the streets at least)? I'm tempted to look for a 991.2 GT3 touring but it's a hard pill to swallow when they're going for 2x my 718 GT4 price. My alternative is to mod the GT4 (maybe shortened gears) and just be happy with that car as a fun street car.

If you're looking for a faster more comfortable car that you can drive almost every day, get the 991.2. The 3RS is a treat that is enjoyed best a few times a month. If you had another RS then I would get the 991.2, but if you don't then keep the RS. I regret selling mine!

I'm basing this purely on canyon driving and even comparing to my 4RS, the GT3 makes me feel more confident. My uneducated guess would be the RWS, wider wheels/tires and the rear end being so planted during during acceleration (although I hear not to lift-off on throttle).

I just sold my GT4 for a Winged .2 GT3. FWIW my experience and feel of the pants take on it is the GT3's wider track, wider wheels and 4WS help it do a lot of things better. Despite not being mid-engined, I feel the GT3 rotates better and turns more naturally.

Add up those three main things and its a superior car even on the street.

The Gt4 was so easily controlled and easy to drive, super approachable and controllable, but the GT3 has more meat on the bone overall in its performance envelope. Faster, better turn-in, rear of the car rotation, and higher cornering speeds.

I also struggled with the $60-80K delta between a 718 Gt4 and a .2, but it makes total sense now looking back.

Just mounted Titan TS-7 in OEM spec today. First time tackling center lock and it wasn't so bad!

Beautiful car! Take a minute to register your special PTS GT3 by clicking the link below. We are slowly gaining traction on the registry, a work in progress. Enjoy and thanks in advance!

Wasn’t sure if I added to the right registry, can you check? You have 2 lists, is one for .1 and other .2?

Hi, yes! Not sure why the previous owner opted to pay $160 for black door handles.

Back at Advanced Protective Films. Previous owner had half front, and rocker panels and mirrors, I'm doing full PPF with double protection on the rocker panels. The front is bulk with no seam lines and everywhere else is extended templates. Installer told me the rear wing is difficult as it's 4 pieces, yikes.
