Default New to me 2018 GT3 6MT (Riviera Blue)

Hi all, back into the 911 club with this GT3 recently purchased from Brooklyn Auto Sales. 6k miles, PCCB, 6MT, buckets and PTS. I installed a Sharkwerks center delete as soon as I got her home then took her straight to the mountains the next morning and she did not disappoint. Definitely not an RS as she's quite comfortable and compliant but I did enjoy her thoroughly through the canyons. Titan wheels incoming, will update then. Thanks for looking!

Congrats and enjoy BOTH in the best of health! That’s a lovely set of blue you’ve got there! (Curious to learn what the tools are for… under the GT3?

I see you previously owned a 2011 GT3 RS. What are your thoughts on 997 vs 991 GT3?

I'm going to go out on a line and assume that you love blue? Congrats on the GT3.

Beautiful! Might want to adjust the sharkwerks exhaust. The canyon pics look like the tips are touching the rear plastic bumper/valence.

Congrats! There’s something special about a GT3 with a manual transmission. I’m also curious about your thoughts comparing the 997 GT3 RS and the 991.

Trying to adjust the tips, actually!

So 997.2 3RS is raw and pure fun, it has gobs of character. The loud SMFW, the peppy revving, and I love how the entire car just shakes when you rev. The 991 is much tamer, compliant and easier to cruise with. The auto blip and RWS make it a no-brainer almost to drive but it doesn't lack either as the engine is a rocket, much faster than the 997.2 3RS but definitely not as peppy (requires a lot of effort to rev-match). Where the 991 shines is the gearbox, I think the 997.2 gearbox is super clunky and it requires a lot of effort to engage smoothly. The 991's gearbox is damn near perfect, Honda Type R-esque. If you want rawness like a 997.2, I would get a 911R or S/T. IMO the 991.2 GT3 is a better handling and faster GT4, a touring car if you will.

Just a few tips (bad pun). Gently loosen (just slightly) the three nuts securing the tips to the muffler. If you can’t loosen the nuts with a little bit of torque, spray a bit of penetrant on the nuts and/or try loosening when the exhaust is warm.

Once loosened you should be able to slide the tip assembly around. When you’re happy with the alignment, hold the assembly while you gently tightens the three nuts. Don’t go overboard.

I had a 997.1 GT3 for over 8 years so I have an idea as to what you are talking about. I agree the 991 is much easier to drive and it’s more refined. I’m not saying that it’s better, just different. Enjoy your new car!
