991 GT3 value
If one considers the 991 GT3 as a plus version of the 991 S, it is a bargain. Speccing a 991 S to the closest spec of the GT3: aerokit cup, powerkit, PDK and PDCC with PASM sport comes to a price of $132290 vs a no option GT3 price of $131350.
Granted real world selling prices will allow a greater discount on the 911 S, but the resale of the GT3 will make up that difference easily even if sold at MSRP. Forget that the GT3 may not be as pure as the old version, but this car is the best value Porsche available.

I'm not so sure I feel the changes to the GT3 justify a 25k base price increase over the 997 GT3 that came out in 2007.
Also, I bought my 07 GT3 from a Porsche Dealer in Atlanta when there was an 18 month wait list... but now the same dealer wants a 20k premium over MSRP - so we are talking 151k starting price, before tax!

Sirtom I would be looking for a new dealer! Something tells me that more 991 GT3s are going to be produced than the 997 variant.
The GT3 is great value. The group here on rennlist are more focused on performance than comfort.

By comparison, the sticker on my 10' GT3 with optional paint color, sport buckets, dynamic engine mounts, sound plus, auto dimming mirrors/rain sensor, universal audio, aluminum footrest and painted exterior warts was $121K. Yes, that is less than a typical Carrera S today. That also includes the $1300 hippie gas guzzle tax and $950 destination charges. To get the same build out of the new car (if you could get decent seats), it would sticker over $140K.
If you look back, a 10' GT3 was only $4700 higher than a 08' and the 10' included the $1100 bi-xenon option from the 08' as standard. So you really only had a difference of $3600 to get the bigger engine, bigger brakes and improved suspension. That WAS a bargain. The best value Porsche today is clearly the Boxster S that matches the new Carrera's performance for a lot less money.
P.S.: Even though I ordered my GT3, I still got a discount.

Just tried out the configurator at Porsche website and it came out over $151k. Jon, just get the damn Scuderia already All new cars are going to depreciate regardless (may be not 4.0). That money could go into maintenance of already depreciated Scud or VA property tax. Only thing new GT3 sounds interesting is that mechanism to disengage the clutch by pulling both paddles on PDK.

Hilarious Anti-GT3 rant by Jack Baruth

He makes some great points, albeit tongue-in-cheek. I'll reserve final judgement on the car until I get to drive one.
I DO think it's gorgeous, especially in that cup-car (Carrara?) white.
Jon, are you thinking of getting one? I'm definitely ordering a 981S but still unsure on this car, or its RS variant.

GT3s are purchased for two reasons. One, they’re fun to drive, so the mandatory PDK in the new one kind of stabs that in the proverbial ball sack. Two, they have traditionally had the old, hyper-durable, GT1-based engine. The new GT3 makes do with an uprated version of the new-gen boxer which makes great numbers in the current 991 but has yet to prove itself as a lasting proposition.
I DO think it's gorgeous, especially in that cup-car (Carrara?) white.
