Default Leather door panel option

I plan on getting the upgraded leather interior but couldn't tell what the "Extended Interior Package, Door Panel in Leather/Alcantara" option for $690 actually looked like. I sent an email to Porsche Exclusive and they sent me the attached pic. The green color highlights the additional leather pieces. Based on this, I will probably pass on this option.

I got it but if could do it over again would pass. But if you are getting the leather dashboard upgrade go for the steering wheel column in leather vs. the door. The column adds the extra stitching which gives a little pop

Yep. Me too. When I was ordering, this info was just being circulated and I had already checked that box. Decided at the time to just leave it rather than take a chance--and I was wrong to do so.

If I had to do it again, would have skipped this and perhaps gotten the leather seat back or simply saved the money for a couple of therapy sessions for the long year ahead...

I also selected it on my build, but since it has been pushed to a 2015 I can leave it off. Thanks for the advice on the steering column. I will definitely get that.

Default Give it some thought....

Gentlemen:

From my perspective as someone that has studied closely the 'Porsche Exclusive' program, I suggest you consider at least these options on your MY2015 gt3 if you would like to personalize your custom order:

A) Extended Interior Package, dashboard trim in Leather $1720

B) Steering Column Casing in Leather $465

But the most important, tangible and valuable option at resale that you could order on your MY2015 991 gt3 is not those two listed above. The singular, key option to order is 'Paint to Sample' for $5,500. Trust me. You will thank me later. See the attached list of approved PTS colors for the 991 below screen shot of the configurator. That one dates from late in 2013. Your dealer might even have the updated one from PCNA.

Saludos,
Eduardo

I left out the leather options. I like Alcantara despite the fact that it's a little tricky. I wish they had a thicker steering wheel. I had a Z4M in the past the steering wheel was beefy and I loved it.

Any one have a standard interior with no leather option. Post pictures if possible. I assume the seats would still have the silver stitching.

I do. Seats have silver stitching. Not my car but it looks like this:

Skup -- keep in mind the car in the pic above has sport buckets, in terms of appearance. But regardless the seats should have the gray stitching.

The door arm rests look like they have the stitching also.

I think that the major items you miss out on is leather and stitching in the tops of the door panels and the part of the dash closest to the driver and passenger (the "top"). You also do not get the aluminum trim strips on the door panels.

Use the 3D version of the configurator and toggle between standard interior and full leather.

I think you loose any alcantara other than in the seats.

I think center console and wheel stay Alcantara.

I made the mistake of doing the extended door panel and the full leather. Should have only done full leather.

Yes. AFA the doors are concerned, with full leather the center panel is alcantera (not vinyl) and is framed with additional silver stitching. Also the rear side panels are leather with more stitching along the top edge.
