That sounds amazing. Would take some getting used to, it's like popping the clutch to coz the car to drift.

I did it with everything off. I have also tried to just burn out straight, and if you are rolling at all (and am in manual mode) it almost seems like it up shifts.

That's weird, best bet is to have the dealer check it out. For what it's worth, I also pulled both paddles in with the traction control off in manual mode, and foot completely off the throttle and the clutch popped back in abruptly (jerk). I was travailing at around 10km/h.

old thread... Has anyone found that pulling the paddles and putting the car into neutral when coming to a stop to be bad for the PDK? Thought I read this somewhere but can't seem to find it. Thanks!

My car wants the LD, then it wants to be held. It's my duty....

It's there to rev instead of waving to corner workers on exit from the track...Europe is windows up at track events, right?

Sure, it COULD be used for that. I find I am able to initiate oversteer by pressing the throttle pedal down. I mean, it's not like these are severely under-powered cars. What's the advantage of a second, more abusive method?

Hmmmm... I'm able to do that with correct throttle application also.

I just had to try this today. Doing about 35 mph I pulled both paddles back. Fingers missed both paddles WTF? So I look down and no paddles. That was a small startle until I realized I was driving my 6 speed MT.

When you spin ? Disengage clutch, don't go rolling backwards with engine in gear. You know the old rule, when in spin both feet in. Except now it's both hands ;-)

Good thought. I turned all nannies off and spun it twice on one autocross run. No way the engine could spin backwards cuz I kept the throttle floored. Lot of tire smoke.

That's why this is such a great feature. By pulling in the paddles at appropriate times you can fool drivers around you into thinking you are driving a MT and that you are not some poser in an automatic.

Try the heel/toe simulation: pull in the paddles and blip the throttle and then rapidly bang the left paddle after the PDK re-engages. Fools them everytime!

much better design would have been a 2nd lever on the left side of the wheel...

New to Porsche, have a '17 - 718 Cayman S... pulled both and released while at a stop (sounded like a good idea at the time) but seemed to be that I was now stuck in neutral. Don't remember the exact sequence of events but the light turned green and I was being strongly encouraged to get moving with honking and #1 gestures, but couldn't get back into gear. Shifted to Park and back to drive, all was fine but since that day it's left me wondering

1. why did I choose to do that in rush hour traffic when I didn't know what would happen
2. what the heck did I actually do?

Quick Reply: pulling both paddles... Neutral but only while being held
