If you're in the 50% tax bracket then you're actually paying $220k over. Just something to consider in making your decision.

I wish we did not think of these car as investments.

Considering these cars as investments takes the enjoyment of use away. I have to stop myself every time I think of not putting miles my 911's for "resale" sake.

If you have the money and know you will enjoy it more than spending the money on other enterprises, spend it, drive it, and forget the price you paid.

Be grateful to have the opportunity and bask in the glory of these fantastic cars.

I see guys talking out of both sides of their mouths, as usual.
A 997 RS is selling for 100k over, a 4.0 is bringing double msrp, but don't buy a pts 991 RS for the same, because that would be a bad buy? Um ok.

This is why you don't ask questions like this on rennlist...

Think of it like this. If you don't buy it, you will always say I should have. If you do buy it, you will never say I shouldn't have. Just buy it!!!

I really don't like spending over msrp, so i tend to not gravitate to cars that i believe are overpriced. But if the extra $ doesn't bother you, proceed!

I think $110k over is too high given the amounts above.
This^

If you have the money, always by all means. That said, expecting to pay a premium is fine if it is a fair premium. $110K is not necessarily a fair premium. And this is someone you know? Good luck...

I think this all really depends on how much disposable income you have. Basically spending $300k on a $200k car.
In my personal situation if I paid that I'd end up divorced and so might say "I shouldn't have bought that car"!!! The cost or car plus the cost of the divorce would make it a very costly PTS - lol!!

There you go OP, CJ will buy a short on your RS. LOL

Since your looking for a very SPECIFIC PTS color, how many Riviera RS's will there be in the US, maybe 15...opportunities to buy will be either rare and/or costly.

I need to decide pretty quickly before I lose it. I hate paying over MSRP because I actually put miles on my cars. Thank you for the opinions.
Close enough to satisfy blue emotional desire?
