My take:
- GTS (available for sale in Spring) - probably announced in Nov/Dec at a US auto show
- Gt3 - probably announced at Geneva in spring - with PDK and manual
- Gt3 - non Aero - cheaper version of the R - all GT3 compenents without wings
- Gt2 RS - I expect will be a 2018 car - and would not be surprised if no 991 GT3 RS II
- Speedster - there should be a Speedster in the cards - an Exclusive edition
- Sportclassic - could be another Exclusive special part of the non Aero

Most interesting to me would be a Gt3 without Aero - a "cheaper version" of the R - that would be a sweet car!

Old info.. but same time I learned of 4.0 Gt3 991.2. Some of the guys in the know let their Gt3RS' go in anticipation of this one. But again, I have no other details so eager to see this validated and what kind of monster they create.

Actually if they can merge the Sport Classic and a touring GT3 without the wing all into one package (like a Sport Classic with a 4.0 GT3 NA engine, 6 speed manual, and a duck tail instead of wing), that would be pretty cool

sure is ! That doesn't mean Porsche should follow that model. It's a biz model that is bad for the regular joe customer and benefits the fortunate few when it comes to limited edition cars. I'm not a fan.

Ok, I guess we just have to wait and see.

I'm testing the waters of exclusive. Came up with some ideas for my gt2rs (cup edition)
Will know more when it's officially launched.
Otherwise just have to wait for the N/A real cup edition.

Back on topic I think the 3 "limited" 911s will be

991.2gt3
991gt2rs
Speedster

Limited by demand and not number plaque on dash.

Not sure how a speedster would look on the 991 chassis, it was a stretch on the 997 chassis.

Anyone ordering their 675LT with cameras, power seats and stereo should IMO immediately have their car taken away from them self.
Besides laser jammers, first thing I did with the car was put a backup camera in. Why? Because it's an expensive *** car and I want to be as careful as possible. My lap times have suffered incredibly with all the extra weight from the camera though. :rolls:

With that said, Porsche may find at some point CAFE standards, European CO2 emissions, or some other type of government regulation will necessitate the change to forced induction or a hybrid system but given the low volume of the GT3 series cars it would appear that the next generation 911 could very well have some naturally aspirated models along with the majority turbocharged lineup.
All depends on whether racing RSR goes turbo IMO. Where the racing 911's go the road-going GT cars eventually follow. Don't expect it until at least 992 GT3/RS but I think it's a matter of when not if....

"Porsche North America – The CORE autosport-run operation will debut Porsche’s new mid-rear engined 911 GTE car next year, with an expected shakeup in its driver lineup, with either or both Nick Tandy and Earl Bamber moving to the German manufacturer’s LMP1 program. With Porsche also returning to a factory GTE-Pro effort in the WEC, it’s unclear which program 2015 GTLM champion Patrick Pilet and countryman Fred Makowiecki will be placed. (2 cars)"

"Porsche’s 2017 GTE contender could feature a turbocharged engine after all, with the new-generation 911 RSR having been spotted testing at Monza, ahead of its race debut early next year.

Two of the new rear-mid engined Porsches, along with a 2016-spec Porsche 911 GT3 R, are at the Italian circuit this week, in what’s believed to be one of the first tests with the GTE car outside of its Weissach test track.

While initial reports pointed towards the car retaining a version of its normally aspirated flat-six powerplant, photos and multiple eyewitness reports from Monza indicate the German manufacturer could have opted with a twin-turbo instead."
