US is like 10,500.

Edit: Sorry, that's total 911 so it would include GT

Well, unotaz says he was at the factory two months ago (so mid Dec 2016) which was right about the end of RS production, correct? Just last week my local dealer said they were expecting another RS soon which was likely built near the end of production.

What doesnt make sense here?

Is "how many are there WW" a reskinned version of "What's my car worth?" If so maybe the dogs should make an appearance

He was led to believe somewhere North 5000 South 6000 at that time.

Numbers in some markets such as UK/Europe, Asia etc were certainly higher than the 991.1 GT3 which finished up somewhere around 3300-3500 units.

Whatever the number is I think everyone agreed it's a lot more than prior gen RS and above last GT3. From here on I'd expect the numbers to keep increasing unless Trump penalised imported cars significantly etc...

Agree^

AP also prepared for the upcoming 991.2gt3. Making a statement that Porsche doesn't make cars as investments.

Meaning,

991.2gt3 will be a non limited R. Same engine, same gearbox.

Can't argue with that.

And do wonder if the GT market will feel saturated soon.

Correct. My R is currently in transit to my dealer and they are receiving 2 more RS on the same boat as my R. For those who thinks the 991.1 GT3RS will be a collector's item needs to readjust their thinking. It's a great car, but its value will definitely drop, being the most produced car in the history of the RS.

Yup, so people should drive their RSs. Any future RSs that Porsche builds that aren't numbers will be built in substantial quantities as long as the world economy is good. As Porsche has shown, it's about making money so I fully expect them to pump out a lot of .2GT3s.

Just to stir the pot...

in the '07-'11 timeframe, what was the world population?

yes there are probably more 991 RS', but there are also more people in the world today...

should the mathletes among us be calculating the global number of RS per capita instead of comparing aggregate number of cars per generation of 911?
