cant believe they are up $100k in such a short time frame.
Have to remember the markets have been very strong lately and if things start to go south, so will the car market.

Cant really argue with the seller. Now is probably a decent time to let these go. If we're not at the top, I would guess its close.

Rich - congrats on an amazing car - probably one of the finest cars built ever. Still regret every day not grabbing one of these when I could have.

Even Andreas Preuninger mentioned all the letters comments he's gotten from R owners worried about the values of their cars with new upcoming models that may have this or that.

If you don't care about pricing, why be so upset?
That's not how I read the OP's posts...

OP - hope you get the 997 4.0!

Here's a low mile 997 RS 4.0 with a $500k asking price. I just saved you $25k (maybe more). Personally, I'd take white over black every time. Black is a job, not a color.

Regarding the 997 RS 4.0, i went to Chicago in 2015 with my wife and daughter. While we were there a boy from our daughter's college wanted to spend the day with her. I step into a store for a minute and get a text from our daughter that he had come early, so they were leaving. About 15 minutes later i get a text from her saying the car is really cool, but the doors are hard to open. Evidently he had to open them for her. She says...I think it is a Porsche. A real fast one.

Of course as her Dad i am thinking here's some guy i haven't even met driving fast in a Porsche around Chicago. I am walking up to our hotel (a block away) when i hear this car pull up. He's dropping her off. Before I could even get any closer he takes off. He's at the light stopped, maybe 30 feet from me. I am just stairing at this amazing white race car. Never seen anything like it. And then the light turns green and he gives it the full beans.

OMG

That car sounded epic. That moment my love affair with the GT3 started.

I get back to the hotel and my daughter tells me about her day. Her date was a professional driver named Cooper, and evidently he took her out and gave her a ride to remember. Of course being a protective father, my first thought was...you did what with my daughter?

My second thought was...You have my blessing to marry him! Sold! Well, as long as i get to ride with him in that car occasionally.

That car. Wow. I love my GT3 but that car is something else. Pictures and videos don't even begin to explain that car.

No offense to the seller of this car since he's an RL member, but it's been on sale forever and a day. Obviously it's overpriced.

I offered all the money on the black car...I don't think we will get the deal done.

The black was worth 50k more to me...my thoughts are I can buy white car for 475k.

I realize white is easy to keep clean but I don't like white.

The 911R can't hold a candle to the 4.0 RS. No one gives a hoot if that's offensive to 911 R VIP owners or not because it's the truth. One of the greatest motors ever vs a motor that's been redesigned over and over again due to all the issues.

In fact, the new GT3 is superior to the 911R in virtually every way besides not being limited unless you hate the wing.

I expect 911R values to plummet and RS 4.0 values to stay exactly where they're at. I doubt anyone with an RS 4.0 wrote AP complaining.

My bets are hedged with a 4.0Rs, an R, and a 997 3.6 RS in green.

Haven't I heard this story before? Is he still hanging around?

Hard to tell from the picture, but it appears not
