true, but if forced to choke down flappy paddles better it be on track-focused RS than street-focused GT3.

I hope you are right. Every thing you say is attainable. That would also begin to justify the expected $50k price difference. But given porsche's history of dribbling in the improvements I suspect what you are talking about is more likely the .2 RS. But I'd like to be wrong here.

I may still be, but after it is revealed. Won't have a problem getting an allocation here since most here prefer the boring turbos. Also, my family circumstances and garage space allow me to only have one sports car at a time. So will this convince me to give up the 458 ? I've driven that 9000 kms in just over 5 months with the majority being highly spirited drives and it's a blast. But it is not a DD, but the Gt3 could be that.

Completely agree about UAE preferences.

I'm hoping the new RS will be hugely different....

Some friends of mine went to Porsche track day in UAE and rumours are 4.0 L, no RWS and magnesium roof.....

2 questions:

1.) There are rumors floating around the internet that the 991 GT3RS will be delayed and not at Geneva. They are only nasty rumors, but anyone have a mole at PAG that can confirm?

2.) The RSR looks like it takes the body of the GT3 and widens it (profoundly) and not the flat-top shape of the Turbo's body. Correct?

Would be awesome if the 991 RS uses the RSR's body or something similar to the GT3's, only wider.

Zeus

1). It will be Geneva I am told by my PAG contacts.
2). The 991RS uses the same rear wing profile at TTS so it is flatter on the top of the rear curves.

No dealer have pricing or spec and this will be emailed to them around 01 March with a press embargo until the day Porsche unveil the car to the press which is usually 3-4 day before the show opens to the public.

This is all I know.

I hope that the base price color is something I can live with. I'm still fried about the $3,600 up charge for orange or green on the '07 .1 (I did orange like 60% of the buyers) and the dark gray on the '10 .2.

As for 21" rims, HRE can make anything you want (that will fit around the brakes).

It is funny to me that, with all of the tech, zip-tied dryer-vent ducting is still the preferred method for race car ventilation.

Looks gorgeous otherwise.
