Yes, it will take time. After all, the engineers who are fixing it are the ones who screwed it up in the first place.

It was just reported by some one here on the forum that the Owner cars here in Chicago that were brought back to the Dealer have been loaded and sent back to the Ports already. That could be promising news

Some one reported last week that the engines would be replaced at the Port. I thought that they were to be done at the Dealerships. With cars being returned to the Port that would suggest to me they are going to be done at the Port and if they are returning the cars already that would also signal that these replacements will be done sooner than later.

If any one has any other info. to add please do.

That might be a good indication, Jim!

Can't imagine bringing the cars back to port early for no reason and also this explains why cars at port never left port.

lumber- Thanks for the clarification. Another member here was at the Dealership and thought they were moved back to the Port which I was a little surprised because I thought the engine replacements would be done at the Dealerships. Be happy you car was under the canopy area when we had the hail storm a week and a half ago.

Can't recall the name on here, but someone from Austin TX had his car sent back to Houston.

If rumor holds true and mechanics from Germany are doing the fixes, it only makes sense to return to port as there will only be a handful of stops for them to complete all the work.

I did hear (dealer) that they were entertaining sending them to port so as not to pay for the warranty work. Cheaper for pag to fix themselves?

+1.

Also, this way--PAG holds responsibility for the work and less wiggle room if there is an issue (I.e. Arguing fault with dealer tech etc.).

It seems to me to make the most sense for PAG to send a group of techs over from Germany who have been trained on the most efficient way to swap the engines and to then have them do as many cars in one location as feasible. This could be at a port PDI facility if such a facility has adequate infrastructure (i.e., lifts). They could also do the work at a dealer's shop after normal business hours if the port facilities are either too far away from a significant number of already delivered cars or lacking lifts, work space, etc.

Makes sense.
