Default PCCBs replaced...

Well while my car is in for the thermostat, and stop sell recall, my sa said they're replacing my front pccb rotors, with different cover plates.

If you reverse at full lock, and hear a not good noise. This will be addressed with the new cover plates for the discs. Youll get new rotors as well.

Sorry to hear about the misfortune. Thanks for sharing the info.

Did they confirm that the stop sale recall was due to the bracket, as detailed in the Stop Sale thread?

Any indication on how broad the PCCB recall is? It's the same set on the GT3 and the Turbo/S...

...also, did they already have the parts in hand for the thermostat and stop sale recall service campaigns? Or is there a wait now?

My thermostat went bad Sunday, so when I brought it mon, the parts were/are back ordered but they had parts for another gt3 that they had ordered that is not being driven. So I got them.

They told me of the pccb issue, which I have heard/felt, but thought nothing of.

There is no news on the stop sale. They think it will affect all gt3, not just later vins. That's what they told me at least.

Thanks for the info. Please let us know if/when they have any updates on the stop sale recall.

lumber, thanks for the post. I haven't heard a clicking noise from the brakes but your mention of a noise at full lock in reverse freaked me out a bit as I've heard that a couple of times. Of course I headed straight for the garage.

I can hear no noise when braking but at full right lock (not left) when backing there is a rhythmic clacking noise that I'm 99% sure is coming from ribs on the shoulder of the tire barely rubbing on the plastic fender liner. As soon as I let off on the lock the tiniest amount, the noise stops and there is no noise from the brakes that I can discern. Guess I'll wait to see if anything develops.

That's the noise that I heard and didn't investigate because I assumed it was a liner issue, and I rarely ever turn at full lock.

That said, the tech thought it was odd how I didn't hear the brake noise that they are addressing as he noticed it when he got in the car. ??

^^ If the choices are that I hear something in the car and they don't hear it, or that they hear something and I don't hear it, I'll go with the latter every time.

Yeah the parts for the recall are not readily available. Go figure.

Did the dealer make an observation about your Sharkwerks bypass re: warranty?

Sharkwerks by pass does not seem to be a problem. My 997.2 was certified when I traded it in with the by pass and my 2011 GT3 was certified when I bought it with the Sharkwerks by pass on. That may be one of those " depends on the dealer" items
