McLaren to replace GT3?

Today I test drove the 12c. Just my opinion. I am 6 feet 2 inches. Hard for me to get in and out of the car without hitting my head. Car is fast but the shift time between first and second there is a lag. Unlike my 458 Ferrari which has no lag time. Handles great, like the independent suspension. Air brake is very cool except when it happens the first time and you can't see out of the rear view mirror. For me, I am passing. It was just too much trouble getting in and out of the car. As far as the GT3 which is on the production floor since 2/14 at V270 with no engine in it, PNA told me today when I spoke with them that my car is expected to be completed on 4/15. I questioned how is that possible when the letter from Tim Quinn said new engines will be produced starting the week of 4/22. The response was "we show your car will be done on 4/15". I then asked will the defective engine be put in it as there will be no new engines until 4/22, the response was "that could happen that you get the defective engine and your dealer will have to replace it". If this illogical event occurs (defective engine put in and dealer fixes it with a replacement engine) I will become the ANTI Porsche Ambassador forever. I have sent a email to Tim Quinn to clarify what is planned for my car. I will post his response if I get one. I will keep the group posted.

IMHO the Aston V12 with secondary cat delete trumps all. That car is almost worth the price of admission for the sound alone. Almost. Sadly it's the least engaging to drive.

No one should consider any (non-EV) McLaren to be a replacement for any Porsche, especially the GT3.
Aside from the ergonomics that some have already mentioned regarding the 12C, which has migrated to the 650, the interior fit and finish of both cars feels second-class to what a Porsche can offer.
There's no doubt the 12C and the 650 are wicked fast, but that's not the end all be all. At least it shouldn't be.

I'm usually on RL most. Always a Porsche guy even though I'm not too thrilled with their current cars. They are great and all, but lack the emotion I'm looking for right now. I'm enjoying my 458 a lot right now. Drive it as much as I can. I'm not sure if I will add a 12C spider or replace the 458. It's a lot of money to tie up into cars. Wifey is pregnant again so I need to chill on cars...if that's possible!
Have you found your 12C coupe yet?

Second day with a new McLaren Spider. This car really grows on you. You can make it loud or make it quiet. When adding to a stable, it has a definite unfulfilled niche. As a standalone, I'm sure I would miss a stick, or the 458 engine noise; however, as an addition, it is really special.
As I said, it grows on you. You need to drive them more than once. It is not so much visceral as cerebral. You can vary it from S class ride to GTR fast. The rigid body for a spider may be unmatched.
I love my RS and my 458. But this car has a place that is in the vicinity. It is a superb daily driver.

Where are you located? Does it attract a lot of attention? I wanted volcano orange but I'm leaning towards graphite grey because I'm thinking I may want to go stealth.

I do not think the MP4 needs a lift. When I saw it up close, when I was interested, I thought it had ample clearance but an owner would certainly have more accurate intel.

No lift. The ZR1 and RS are lower. What scratches are two little nubs that extend down to act as warning signals. Having said that, I did get the skid pads put on both sides of the front bumper.
Attention even with my stealth dark grey is surprisingly significant.

Yeah..decided against the McLaren, too much attention plus my daughter couldn't ride in it.
Was about to pull the trigger on a Turbo S Cab until I realized most tracks still won't accept the roll over system on the car.
Now what?
