I'm not saying the 12C is a direct replacement for the 991 GT3.

On a side note, the 650S is brutally fast. Quoted by Mclaren at 5.7s to 100 mph and 8.4s to 124 mph. Must be close to 918 numbers.

I shouldn't do that now, not until my GT3 is operational because I am afraid the temptation to get a really fast car that I can take to the track the day I buy it would be too great. Plus I can't afford to add a McLaren. I toyed with the idea of trading the 360 in and getting a used 12C to use as a DD but I've owned the Ferrari for 10 years, the longest I've ever had a car so letting it go is not easy.

Don't even think of parting with your 360. That's such an awesome and classic car. Even cooler is the fact you've had it this long.

Thanks for reinforcing that!! It's also likely to be the last car with an "old school" manual that I ever buy.

I disagree on the turbo lag.
Consumables are a little more I bet. Stock pads are softer, so good replacements would be Pagids. Not sure about rotors. Tires are tires...

I agree. If you have had the Ferrari for 10 years it would be hard to get rid of it. It is your baby.

I would either get rid of my 997.2 RS for the McLaren or my 458. Not sure I want to do either yet. However, I can't get the car out of my mind after the test drive. I need mental help. Actually, winning the lottery would help. LOL.

Ok... So I was cruising past a dealer and they had a 12C for $185K there, I knew the guy so he said take it out for a spin and tell me what you think. I took it around for about 20 minutes and really pushed the thing and it go's like hell, the car is ridiculuously fast but I felt disconnected, the car seemed a little too "smart" not sure how to even quantify what I'm saying but the car just didn't feel like a car, it felt a little too perfect, it was just missing a little something, not sure what it was not sure I'll ever know but it just didn't do it for me. Albeit I want to mention the car is bloody fast.

Now I literally just crawled out of a 2014 V10 R8 a minute ago I can almost guarantee I'm going to buy that car with a manual. I'm sure I won't go as fast with the manual but the gated shifter is probably the coolest thing ever. Every time I shifted I felt like I accomplished something, it's just too much fun! The car will mos def need an exhaust to get the feel of the V10 but it was comfortable, fast, planted, and fun. Not much more I can ask for in a car..... Look's like it's been real boys, see you when I pick up the RS.

Sam

Keep the Ferrari. Everyone should own a Ferrari in their lifetime.
I have a 2003 Ferrari 360 Spider Rossa Corsa Daytona Seats.............I cant imagine selling the car. Going fast or faster is not really that important..............5 years from now the 991GT3/Ferrari 458/McLaren 650S...........will look outdated..............but does it really matter.

My 1987 930 slantnose 2900 430HP on Boost is faster in a straight-line than a GT3 or the 360.............but it doesnt stop or corner like those cars.............but it makes you smile as the wategate farts and etc. I wouldnt trade that car nor the 360 spider for a GT2RS with 800hp..............I have had 5 of those cars here and its fast but not passionate or doesnt light my fire.
Just like a 2010 Corvette ZR1 with headers, biiger pulley 110 Cam 2 makes 1000+ HP or a Nissan GTR can make 1200+HP.............power and speed are not everything.

Sam what about this

So awesome for sure but I can't get myself to track something like that. After all, a paint job on a Ferrari is like $30K.

Your description reminds me of how I felt about the GT-R.

That reminds me of a funny incident about 15 years ago when I was driving my Boxster in downtown Houston with a buddy of mine and two gorgeous, albeit on the sluty side, girls crossing the street walked towards us and said "let us in". They were serious too.

"Your description reminds me of how I felt about the GT-R."

Mp4 is nothing like a gtr, which could possibly be the most boring (fast) car made.
