What do you think Tony, did I nail this one?
I have no horse in this race, as I do not ever see myself owning a 991GT3 or Z28. That said, there are no "facts" out there, as there are no Z28 production vehicles yet. Only factory mules and pre-production ringers. My conjecture is as good as yours. When they come off the line and miracles happen, then you can puff up your chest.

Huge success?

It's the same price and has the same engine as the outgoing Z06 and weighs 600 lbs more - 600 hundred pounds more - w/ no radio and no AC.

So it is, in fact, a huge pig.

The success part has been the 'flow-tie' and 'air mode' marketing. Hats off for that.

Should I have put the word huge in bold letters?

Think they meant 2014 allocation sold out….

2015 Chevy Camaro Z/28 already sold out?
By Chris Bruce

Chevrolet may have struck gold with the Camaro Z/28. Not only is it a great car to drive, it's also proving to be a hot seller. A rumor has emerged that the brand has already fulfilled all the orders for the planned 500-car production run.

Don't worry, though. If you want a Z/28 in your garage, Chevy plans to start building a second production order of 2,500 or more cars for the 2015 model year, according to Autoguide. However, it'll be a few months before those will start arriving at dealers. In the meantime, you still might be able to get your hands on the $75,000 track-biased Camaro. While all 500 cars were spoken for, some were ordered by dealers to just show off the sports coupe on their showroom floors, according to Road and Track. You might be able to wheel and deal to get one of them.

We've contacted Chevy for confirmation of the rumor and will update this story with more information when we hear back.

FYI, the 991 Gt 3 is warrantied for track use.

Not if you put slicks on it, which will be the bare minimum you'll need to even have a chance against a stock C7 Z06 on the track.

True, assuming equally crappy or good drivers. But what are slicks?

I wonder if PAG would consider those Trofeos slicks? Hooters?

Please, bench racing a car that doesn't even exist yet? I don't doubt it will be faster, but "to even have a chance". Is a little much to state when the car is in mule stage. Will the stock Z06 come with slicks?

The 991 GT3 doesn't technically exist either, at least where you can drive one. So, theoretical to theoretical is a valid comparison.

stock Z06 will probably come with sport cup 2's or super sports designed for the Z06 would be my guess. Maybe a PS3?

My point is, the 991 GT3 is going to be hampered for track work by not being able to put on true racing slicks. By that, I mean Dunlop, Pirelli, Michelin, etc. true race slick. I don't put Trofeo or Cup 2's, etc. in that category and I don't think Porsche does either.

I wonder how many of y'all would have taken a 991 GT3 track edition with a 500hp Mezger, bulletproof PDK, and no rear wheel steering, and race hubs with normal 5 bolt-pattern with any allowed tires for about $150k bare bones. I'd certainly be intrigued.
